Why Does Amazon Still Consider Us Non-UK Established Despite HMRC Confirmation?

Hi,

We’re reaching out because we’re at a loss and hoping someone here might have advice or insight.

Here’s our situation: we’ve been selling on Amazon for over four years, always paid our taxes, and followed all the rules. But earlier this year, our payments were blocked because Amazon said they didn’t consider us a UK-established business. Then, in July, our account was suspended entirely.

We provided all the required documents—the exact same ones—to both Amazon and HMRC (the UK tax office). HMRC confirmed in August that we’re fully UK established, but Amazon still hasn’t updated their decision. They’re holding on to £15,000 of our payments, and we can’t even make removal of our goods from their warehouses.

We don’t understand how two organizations looking at the same documents can come to completely different conclusions. And now, despite providing proof from HMRC, all we get from Amazon are automated replies. It feels like we’re stuck in limbo.

We’re not here to argue or cause trouble—we just want Amazon to reconsider their decision based on these new circumstances. We’ve done everything we can to prove our compliance, and we really want to resolve this and get back to business.

Thanks in advance!

Could you help us by pushing for a review of our case so we can finally resolve this? At this point, we just need someone to look at our documents and reconsider the decision, rather than just getting auto-replies.

I think the problem is that it appears that, even though you have a UK address registered with CH, that you are all resident in Belarus, and the UK address is a virtual address, and Amazon do not seem to like virtual addresses.

I cannot advise any further as am not a Ltd Co,

It would be interesting to read the actual wording in the letter that HMRC sent you which confirms your UK establishment (appropriately redacted of course).
