Deactivated personal account still being charged
Hello
Initially we started with a business account and chose FBA option for our products. After a while decided to stop so we removed all products and downgraded to personal account.
A few months passed and i realized we re still being charged 1,3 GBP “storage fee” , but at the same time the inventory settings show “out of stock” of all items we were selling. This small fee generates problems to our accountant, but in a couple of months we will start selling on another market via Amazon.
We are not able to contact amazon Amazon sellers support as our account is deactivated and our mains do not get through.
Pls kindly advise what to do to stop being charged and keep account for future use. If its not possible, pls suggest on how to properly close the account so we will not be charged in future.

If you are buying goods to sell on for profit then (which you obviously are if using FBA) you MUST have a Business Seller Account.
A personal ‘Individual’ Seller Account is only for selling off ones own personal second-hand items.
If you mean the Individual Selling PLAN then you can downgrade so that you are not paying the £30 a month professional plan fee.
Why was your account deactivated ?
Also, you cannot close a deactivated account - you have to get it activated and then request Amazon to close it if you do not wish to sell on the platform anymore. However, you have also said you want to start selling on another Amazon marketplace.
To downgrade the selling plan go to Settings - Account Info - Your Services - Manage.
You will not pay any more pro.plan fees., but will say pending until your next payment would have been due.

You need to check reports - fba - inventory ledger to see if there’s stock in uk or EU warehouses

Hello @TopHQProducts,
This is McCoy from Amazon here to assist you.
We understand your account is getting charged for subscription fees even after downgrading to an Individual selling plan. As per Amazon polices, you will no longer be charged for the subsequent months if you do not have active listings in other stores where you retain a Professional plan.
Please confirm, when did you downgrade your account and are there any active listings in other stores?
As rightly mentioned by @JillyB1, you would not be able to close the account in deactivated status. In order to close the account permanently you need to first reactivate it.
You will be able to contact the Seller Support team once your account is reinstated. You can request for a subscription fee refund by contacting the Seller Support team after you successfully reactivate your account.
For detailed understanding of your account deactivation reason and to assist you with a path forward, kindly provide us the snapshot/screenshot of the account deactivation Performance notification.
Kindly feel free to post on the same thread for any further queries. The Forums community and I, are here to support you.

McCoy

Thank you all for your efforts in solving my problem. I do appreciate.
We downgraded in Feb 2023, the last payment for Professional plan was made on 16/03/2023. The status of all SKUs is “Inactive”, “out of stock”
The reason of deactivation is the fact that we didn’t receive UK VAT number even thou we applied for that in the UK authorities months before. So i guess we cant reactivate account without generating UK VAT number first, and it is likely to take more time ( we applied for that by our selves).
What can we do to not to be charged and get some more time to finish UK Vat NO process?
Thanks in advance for your time in helping
Cheers

Hello @TopHQProducts,
This is Amelia from Amazon to assist you.
Thank you for sharing the details of the requested information.
All Sellers on Amazon Stores are required to meet the compliance requirements stipulated by
the law. VAT registration requirements vary from region to region in Europe, and you need to
submit a valid VAT number in a timely manner on the Stores where the VAT obligation is
generated, and make sure that the VAT number you submitted complies with the business
registration name on the Seller Central. At the same time, please keep in mind your account
number and password (if applicable) registered on the HMRC website to ensure that you can
manage it yourself and view relevant tax materials timely.

If its just a small storage fee, and all your stock is showing out of stock, could it be a damaged item, or unfulfillable customer return that you will have to pay for the removal/destruction of.
Check your fba inventory ledger report to see if you hold unfillable stock somewhere
