Bristol Royal Mail Depot Issues?

Is anyone else having issues with Bristol Depot of Royal Mail?

Tracked Items not being scanned into depot and then claims not being able to be raised?

Multiple scanning that possibly resents the clock to maintain delivery rates?

Would be great to know if other businesses that are serviced by Bristol are noticing anything?

Yes RM Bristol are a nightmare and have been for many years.

Large amount of Tracked 48 parcels not booked in on the same day, sometimes 3 days later. Which of course means customers do not get their delivery on time. Lots of tracked items not scanned in at all in Bristol so you cant make a claim!

Our account manager always brushes off the problems and no one at Royal Mail will take any responsibility for the continued issues.

We need Mr Bates onboard !!

I think it is systematic of an issue with Royal Mail not necessarily just with the Bristol Depot

My tracked 48 mail has recently been taking between 24-48 hours just to get a first scan. This is mail that is being processed by the Midlands Super Hub.

I have put a complaint into RM but they just tell me the delivery times are not guaranteed. Well that maybe so but I don't expect it to take 48 hours just to get a first scan.

It is silly as most of my RM48 post gets delivered within 2 working days and is quicker than tracked 48. For me tracked 48 is a premium service and should be treated that way by RM.

I'm glad I randomly stumbled across this post!

I sent a return last month to a supplier in the area using RM. It reached the Bristol depot and then there has been radio silence since then. I would have thought that if it had reached the supplier, I would at least get a notification from them, yet I have heard nothing.

I have never had an issue with RM before this and have used them reliably for years, but this seems a bit fishy!

Hoping for the best outcome from a RM claim, but I am still going to be losing out regardless - lesson learnt!

we had an issue with our local regional hub recently where T48 were not scanned for 4 days.

they claim they only scan when they are processed

but could not explain why they had not processed them sooner.

the times for the packages when they were scanned were spread over several hours - and certainly not scanned as they "processed" the sack

it seems that if RoyalMail havent scanned it - then they dont have it - and it isnt late. . . .

Yep.... Bristol has always been bad foe "regional hub" delays

Overall, we have found RM better than Evri. Ours use Exeter MC for collections though.

Bristol MC has been an issue to us for some deliveries to Buyers (we do not use that MC for collections), especially if any backlog, eg around Bank Holidays. Then they ignore the older items that are already late (as already a black mark against them for those if 1 day late or many days late), so they process the new parcels, as those then do not count against them. RM CS say agreement says up to 15 days before an item is late, but most arrive in 5 days.

Evri are a lot better than they used to be, but £20 claims really shows how little they think of their own service, compared to £150 cover with RM as standard on Tracked 24/48. (On SFP nearly all show late deliveries, as they should be Next Day, where RM and DPD are minimal late deliveries - Evri 2-3 day service is usually on time).

The problem with RM, is that everything is in postal bags, so not individually scanned when collected. RM Tracked 24 usually gets opened and scanned the same day, or at least the early hours of the next morning, and they deliver 7 days a week, including Sunday (not a Sunday collection though, which is a pain).

RM Tracked 48 is deliberately not processed as fast as Tracked 24. I gather sacks are usually opened and scanned in the daytime the next day, then in the system that evening, so most take 2 to 3 days. Delivery Monday to Saturday, not Sunday. Not Prioritised if any back-log either.

Likely as Amazon use Tracked 24 for Prime, is why all Tracked 24 are prioritised and why they include Sunday deliveries, and over 98% on time.

We are in WestonSM and Bristol is our main hub.... and yes we too have issues. We find many delayed items on RM 24 or 48.

Inside info implies that in the Bristol hub will not exist and its replacement has not yet been announced. Roumors are the land is being sold.

Yep. All our post goes through Bristol and we get complaints daily about items not arriving.
