Has anyone else noticed that the payment release date for business has moved from 30 days to 45 days? It’s bad enough Amazon force 30 day terms onto us for business buyers but 45 now? Have I missed some communication from Amazon about this change?
my ones from actual 3rd party business buyers are still 30 days
I believe if amazon themselves buy your product on invoice to sell on, they have 45 days !
We’re usually carrying about a dozen of these at any one time. I just checked and we currently have one at 45 days payment and all the rest are at 30 days.
We have bi-weekly payouts, so depending on when the payment does finally land, it can be almost two months after purchase before we see the money for it.
I hadn’t noticed to be honest. However I have noticed that almost all (if not all) in recent months are paid straightaway.
When the scheme first started I had several go the full allowed time, but that got less over time.
I just assumed that they’d removed the BNPL part of it.
Ok I have now got to the bottom of this. It’s 30 days for business buyers that purchase directly. 45 days for ones that Amazon buys from us and then re-sells on. The reason for buying and selling on is so that the buyer gets invoiced by Amazon. Amazon have done this because the buyers do not want lots of invoices from multiple sellers - they just want one from Amazon. But why change the terms to 45 days I have no idea.
Ours are all still on 30 days - thankfully as we have nearly 200 orders at the moment outstanding on deferred payment
The best way to get paid faster you need enrolled in Get Paid Faster option. Amazon will charge 1.5% fees to get faster pay. It will apply from new invoices for business customers not to existing invoices. If you are happy to give 1.5% fees that is some what £1.50 for £100 than enrolled it. If decided not to than Amazon make decision on deferred payments towards your account status.
