Merging listings
Hi I have a hardback book listed ASIN 1800499515 and have now created a Kindle version that is the same with ASIN B0B15HPRQJ. These appear as two separate listings but I would like to merge them into one.
I’ve tried to use the new HELP section but this doesn’t work and doesn’t allow me to actually contact anyone. It says the ASINs are ineligible to merge.
Any help anyone?

Go to fiverr website and look for merge amazon listing. there’s loads of people on there that will do it for you for around £10.
I used them and was all fine.

So I’ve got a Fiverr guy, given him Inventory permission and he’s found a problem. My Kindle book that I created and is now available isn’t a product in my inventory. I can’t merge it with my hardback book as it’s not in my list. I can search it, find it, I have its ASIN but it says I’m not permitted to add it to my products.
Just a normal listings nightmare

Yes I gave him inventory permission. I wasn’t sure how he was going to do it but for $20 I guessed it would be quick. He implied he would do everything.
Now ground to a halt.
I’m not the first person who wants their Kindle and hardback book listing on one listing. Why is it always a “Amazon computer says no” he’ll!?

There no longer appears to be a way of contacting a human via Help.
I created the Kindle book using the Amazon KDP software. Uploaded it on THEIR website. Took half an hour. Easy if you have your files.
I gave the Fiverr dude limited Amazon permissions. Yep a risk. Yep I’m desperate as I hate Amazon technical problems.

So far all he seems to have told me to do is “ask Amazon help”. I wouldn’t be on here if I hadn’t wasted two days doing that. I honestly don’t see why he’s on here. No help at all.
Yes the free chat with Fiverr dude clarified what the problem is. If I could add my Kindle book, he could merge it quickly.
The real question now is why won’t Amazon let me add my own Kindle book?
I’ll start again next week. Anyone had this problem? See below

I think it’s clear the problem is I created the Hardback myself - had it printed in China and shipped to Amazon FBA - and listed it. I didn’t self publish using KDP.
The Kindle version was made in KDP. It was then listed using KDP. All very slick.
If in Sellercentral I log the merging problem and put in the KDP ASIN it says “this ASIN doesn’t exist”. Even though my KDP Kindle book is listed and for sale, the two Amazon businesses are separate and don’t seem to be able to recognise each other’s listings.
I can’t merge the Kindle on Sellercentral as it won’t register it and I can’t merge/link the hardback on KDP website for the same reason.
My 2 identical books are like twins, one living in North Korea and the other in South Korea!

Hi,
Detail page linking can be done only if the metadata matches, all formats are published through KDP, and under the same account. The linking process usually takes up to 1 week after each edition is live.
Contact Amazon here if the detail pages still aren’t linked after these checks
Hope this helps.

My listings finally merged. I have no idea how. Did I do something? Did the KDP Kindle book take a while to filter through? Odd. Of course I created the Kindle version so I could advertise my book. I cannot even remember who suggested that as a solution. Sooo long ago.
And now when I go onto Amazon advertising page it doesn’t recognise the ASIN.
What joy.
