Premium Shipping

I sell and ship seafood through Amazon. Most of my items are perishable and ship overnight regardless of amazons estimated delivery time. I seem to be losing my Premium Shipping eligibility often because of orders that are placed Friday for Saturday delivery. Some areas in the USA aren’t covered under carriers Saturday delivery zones. When I get these orders I can’t figure out the correct way to handle these without being penalized. If the order ships it doesn’t get delivered until Monday after the delivery promise so the metrics are hit. If I cancel the order, metrics are hit with a pre-fulfillment cancellation metrics hit. Most of the time I ask the customer to do a buyer initiated cancellation however they don’t always reply. My sales are significantly bigger every day when I have premium eligibility. The bigger issue is that once the premium shipping is disabled, the amount of orders that create the average metrics for eligibility stop and I lose Eligibility for 2-3 weeks if not more. In terms of sales its the difference between $600 a day and more than $2,000 day. Anyone have any ideas on avoiding this.

You cannot ask the buyer to cancel an order, that is against policy.

Thursday orders will need to be shipped by Monday.
Orders from Fri-Sun will need to be shipped by Tuesday.

Do not offer a speed faster than what you can realistically meet. Exceed that speed most of the time. (Two day ?)

Put your account on vacation for one or two days every week?

Stay tuned to this thread, others may be selling similar fresh items who will have counsel based on practical experience.

And, as covered above – do not ask buyers to cancel for your issues. Only ask buyers to cancel when the buyer contacts you with that desire.
