Secondary Users cannot Process Returns

Hi, anyone else having an issue with setting up Secondary Users Now? We have a customer services department who I wish to allow the ability to process (or heck, view) return and refund requests on the amazon dashboard.

Now, we are required that they supply a scan of their passport and a recent utility bill (which is a whole other topic as some of our staff you know, live in rented accommodation or with their parents) but I have no issue with jumping through these hoops - it’s short term pain but once they are setup, they are setup

But now I’ve been told that…
Secondary users will not be able to initiate disbursements, set disbursement methods, and/or issue refunds on behalf of the seller or the account owner. Only the primary account user will be able to take these actions. This security measure will enhance the safety of our website. Secondary user can not access process and manage Refund and Returns on your account.

But when I go to manage User permissions - the first thing I see is a screen asking if I want this user to manage returns and refunds - and if I want that - I need to supply the passport and utility bill.

We aren’t that big a seller as it stands, but am I really expected to process all returns myself? The only option I can see is to give my login to others - which seems to go the wrong way in terms of safety and security. Have I understood amazon policy correctly on this?

Amazon changed the rules about what Secondary users can and cannot do, and obviously have not updated all their info pages.
However the new rules are that NO, secondary users will not be granted access to the financial side of your account, for security reasons. It might be possible in the future but they haven’t announced so yet.
From the help pages

_Restricted functionality for Secondary Users _
Secondary users will not be able to initiate disbursements, set disbursement methods, and/or issue refunds on behalf of the seller or the account owner. Only the primary account user will be able to take these actions. This security measure will enhance the safety of our website.

We are looking into options to enable this again for a limited number of users, who have provided KYC information to verify their identity. Please revisit this page at a later stage for an update.

Hi,

Thanks for your post.

In order for secondary users to process returns they will need to have their information verified by the verification team. The only alternatives are the ones you have mentioned in your post I’m afraid.

Thanks,
Jessica

I wasn’t aware that you could do this, I’ve just provided a drivers licence and bank statement as a test, no utility bills to use in my case so hopefully this works.
