New Seller not eligible for buybox?
So I’m an existing business that has been trading through my own webstore for ~6m, I decided to sell on amazon as an additional outlet.
Apart from issues with EANs etc, where it seems Amazon won’t let new items be listed at all, still fighting for that one…
I have a number of items for which I’m the only seller, but I still don’t win the buybox.
Given that about 2/3rds of my items I can’t manage to list, and the other 1/3rd even when I am the only seller I can’t win the buybox, is there any point in attempting to sell on amazon? I’m very close to just dropping amazon as a channel tbh.
I’m on the “professional” plan for what it’s worth, and I am a Ltd company.

Buybox is dependent on a number of factors, and in your case for FBM orders it will be 90 days+ of trading on Amazon, plus some sales history.
Until then you’ll most likely just have to wait. Your trading history off Amazon doesn’t factor at all.

You will. It may seem that way but every seller started out that way, customers are used to having to click on more buying options to buy from sellers, and not all as stupid and blind as we assume they are.

similar nightmare experience on here so far myself

Yeah, seller support is trash, they don’t help at all. I have a number of ASINs with incorrect data (mostly number of items), that I can’t change and all I get from seller support is “update it and wait 24-48 hours”, well I’ve done that like 5 times now.
I also have ASINs in completely the wrong category that they refuse to change.
As I suspected, I have yet to make a sale as I’m unable to win the buybox even when I’m the only seller.
I thought amazon would be a good secondary channel that, while I’d make less money due to the high fees, I’d make up for it in volume, but it seems it’s just a drain on my time.

We’re in the same situation. When I make research on Google about new seller buy box eligibility issues. They mentioned the FBM to FBA conversion method for becoming buy box eligible. Is there anyone who has an idea to accelerate the buy box eligibility for a new seller who has the FBM method, private label products, and a professional account?

Hi,
I am in the exact same situation now, just wondering if you found a way around this? Do you have any products with buy boxes now?

Those of you new on here having this issue: I completely get why you may be opposed to FBA but have you considered sourcing some stock of a fast moving item that you could send in for Amazon fulfilment to establish your sales history? Even if you just keep that one product running as FBA while you establish your base sales on your own products. If you choose to do so down the line you could then discontinue that product, though I’d phase out gradually to avoid a potential review for a big change in sales velocity.
Long story short; it’s very hard to get around the 90 day/sales history gating unless you use FBA. So I’d consider it in the short term even if you’ve no intention of making it part of your long term strategy. Hope this is of use

I’m still not in the buybox, I’m not now expecting to be any time soon. I made my first sale last night and dispatched it.
A lot of my products I am unable to list, as the details for them are wrong (“number of items” is set to 5 for one and 20 for the other, rather than 1) and seller support won’t fix it.
I was going to close the account before the 2nd monthly fee went out, but not sure how that works now that I’ve made a sale.
