Expiry date, which format? And size?

  1. What is the correct expiry date format when selling stock in Europe using FBA? In Amazon’s own guides I can only find this MM-DD-YYYY or MM-YYYY which applies to Amazon in the U.S. The page for Amazon UK, Germany etc. has no such info. In this forum I’ve seen one seller suggest that DD-MM-YYYY is okay for Europe, but would love to hear if some of you have seen any official Amazon info on this?

  2. Does the 36-font size for expiry dates apply to just outer cartons/boxes, or also ready to ship (SIOC) boxes? Can’t find anything on this either. I’ve been through all the official Amazon guides and pages.

Thank you all.

So I found this in the German Amazon guide “Verpacken und Senden von Lagerbestand an Amazon”. It says TT-MM-JJJJ which can only mean DD-MM-YYYY, as TT is DD (day):

Mindesthaltbarkeitsdaten

But then in the English version of the Quick Reference Guide “Packaging and Shipping Inventory to Amazon”:

“Expiration dates must be displayed in the format MM-DD-YYYY or MM-YYYY.”

Anyone here with exprience shipping stock with an expiry date? To the UK, Germany or any other European market.

Maybe @Jessica_Amazon can help clarify the requirements or guide me to a definite answer?

Thank you all.
