Hi, dear UK seller! 🌷
We all know the platform is constantly evolving - from listing guidelines to review policies, there are always new requirements to stay on top of, and it could be a little bit challenging sometimes.
But you know what they say, change is the only constant! 😄 And honestly, I see Amazon's policy updates as an opportunity to level up your selling game.
I'm curious to hear how you proactively manage these changes. What are your go-to strategies for:
1. Efficiently staying informed about the latest Amazon policy moves
2. Quickly adapting your listings and processes to comply
3. Leveraging seller tools and features to make policy adherence easier
4. Handling tricky policy areas like reviews, pricing, etc.
Sharing our collective wisdom is the best way to navigate Amazon's ever-changing landscape. Plus, it would help all our new sellers that have recently joined!
So let's hear it - what are your top Amazon policy management tips? I can't wait to read your insights in the comments below. 👇
STOP making changes all the time. Why change things that work perfectly well ? Many of them are not even for the better and are backward steps, and always creating more work, headaches and hassle for we sellers......and LISTEN to your sellers, and even dare to take on board some of our ideas and suggestions to make life easier - we are the ones who have to adapt to all the constant changes, which for many seem to end up with serious account issues.
Apologies for minor rant !!
Why do you keep asking questions?
Nothing changes, as Jilly has said LISTEN!
One day, if you listen it could be too late. It is 3rd party sellers that make this platform. Our integrity, honesty, PATIENCE! that make this platform work - not Amazon
I genuinely believe the platform has become overcomplicated. I understand changes in the law and such. However, Amazon would move forward with sellers and thus sell more if they actively engaged with sellers in a more open way.
Yes, I know many sellers would ask for a big reduction in fees. Heck that is not going to happen anytime soon. However, even some long term sellers, are at times bewildered, frustrated with the constant NEWS and changes.
Amazon could rule the waves, but it needs to listen to it`s crew.
I would love to see an overall simplification of the Amazon selling platform.
@Angie_Amazon One would seriously hope that the mere fact that my rant/post has now had 33 'thumbs up' votes (and rising), that you / Amazon WILL listen to us, the 3rd party sellers, the ones who keep the platform going, and to @Seller_OC4AKQTpHwKwL who is spot on when he mentions the integrity, honesty and patience of we sellers, and not of those rogue sellers who manipulate listings, create multiple duplicate ISBNs / ASINs for books (my category) already in the catalogue, and the dropshippers who list virtually every book in the catalogue yet hold no stock, and often reside in other countries.
Hello.
Can Amazon please stop making deadlines in the busiest time of year? For example, 'Country of Origin'. Please see the amount of posts regarding this. It's the busiest quarter for most sellers, and this is adding more stress too many sellers. Surely an earlier deadline (say August) would have been better?
Predominantly hand-made seller here.
A while back you changed how customisation works with all this 'surface' nonsense which basically made it impossible for me to list personalised items. It worked just fine before the 'improvement' but has effectively wiped out 100s of items that I offered personalisation on because I don't use a 'surface'.
I can honestly say every change you've made in the last few years has made the selling experience harder and given less choice to my customers.
I know this thread is only lip service and nothing we say will make any difference, but it's good to vent.
We are being encouraged to ENGAGE with Amazon. This implies a two way process. We cannot engage with Amazon because they will not engage with us.
We endlessly point out serious problems and beg for help and support that actually works. It all falls on deaf ears. Amazon have made it perfectly clear that they despise their small sellers. Their policy is to not engage with us under any circumstances.
Seller support is their modern day recreation of the circumlocution office. Round and round we go forever.
It is easy enough to keep up with policy changes you just keep an eye on Amazon News, emails and the forums. If you do this you will pick up on policy changes.
However it is apparent many sellers do not see policy changes and when new policy happens it creates many threads on here from sellers who were totally unaware. Work really needs to go into finding a better way of communicating with these sellers.
I do think Amazon don't always explain the policy changes very well. Over the years you only have to see the length of some threads on policy changes to see that sellers don't understand what is being asked of them. We could do with clear and better communication.
I do sometimes think some policy change happens to stop certain sellers from behaving badly. This then means more work for us sellers who stay within the rules. It may be better sometimes to consider sanctioning/removing badly behaved sellers rather than imposing policy on everyone.

@Angie_Amazon Hopefully you have now had time to read the comments, and I am quite amazed that my first post in reply to your post has now has 60 thumbs up - surely that must be a strong indication of the issues that we have to face daily, and as @Pescara_Collect1 said, engagement is a two way process - we have done our bit, hopefully Amazon / you will do their part and at least make some comment.
