Amazon's receiving process is very slow, really disappointed

Why is Amazon's receiving process so slow? Even though my product is out of stock, there's still no progress. Can an Amazon internal team member help with my case?

Define what you think of as "slow".

Typically, this time of year you can figure anywhere from 2-10 days for a delivery to be checked in, then 2-3 weeks to get spread to other FCs, which may affect your item being available. During Q4, it can be far longer.

Any estimate Amazon provides is almost certainly overly optimistic.

Hi @Seller_PUFkSEVYjE8Dm,

Thanks for reaching out!

I know it's not ideal to hear, but sometimes the shipment process does take a bit of time to complete due to a variety of reasons, including high volume.

That said, if you can please send me your shipment ID and case IDs for this, I'd be happy to take a further look into that shipment to make sure everything's on the right track.

In the meantime, I would recommend reading through this help page for additional information and best practices on the shipment process.

Thanks again,

Jameson

From our experience...From ship date to the product distributed to all fulfillment centers, the time it takes is usually 30 days give or take a week and add an additional 2 to 4 weeks during peak periods such as the 2 months before Christmas. Product starts becoming available in the online inventory in about 2 weeks from ship date.

With this knowledge, we ship accordingly by monitoring average sales and current inventory.

For a simple example. If a specific item sells 100 pieces per month on average and there are 150 pieces available in FBA fulfillment centers. We know that we should ship another 100 pieces in about 2 weeks as not to run out of inventory.

Another tip is to always have more inventory available than your competition as having ample inventory is part of the formula for earning the buy box.

I ship items to AWD every two weeks even if not needed. I make sure I have plenty in Amazon stock at all times. My run rate on a few skus is a few hundred a month. This way even if new shipments are delayed, they always have a good amount of stock.

If you have not considered this, do FBM for your out of stock items in the meantime.

Well, if you have been confined to warehouse SCK8, then the check in time from "delivery" to "check in" is 2-4 months.

My issue is the FC transfer nonsense. Why have you ship product into one distribution center, only the transfer the entire shipment. And then to also transfer all of the previously available inventory. I have existing, sellable inventory, and three separate restocking shipments, all in fc transfer. no product available. It's nuts.
