Problem adding new products
Im having an issue trying to sell a new product and wondered if anyone else is having the same issue.
The past few days when I try to copy an existing product or create a new on from scratch when I fill out my variations it shows this error message.
"You may not use brand names in the keywords attribute. Please review our prohibited seller activities and actions at https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/help.html?itemID=200386250."
If I try to create a single product with no variations it shows errors on the variations tab and insists I fill out variations. I assumed it was some sort of glitch that will get sorted but its been 3 days now and i havent noticed anyone reporting this problem.
Ive also contacted customer support who replied with the following.
"I understand your concern is regarding creating the variation using EANs.
After doing my research, i have found that these EANs 0692456664860 and 0692456664877 not associated with any ASIN.
I would like to suggest you to first create listing of the products and then you will be able to create the variation successfully.
Once you successfully create the listing with ASIN , you can use your new ASINs as Product Id type while creating the variation."
I have been listing the same way for over 3 years and have 1000’s of products so dont see how im suddenly doing it wrong but maybe amazon have changed the way EAN’s and ASIN’s work?

They are correct neither EAN is registered or relates to any product, are these two correct and match the product barcode?

I am having the exact same problem. You can usually add a ‘Node’ value and amazon create an ASIN, but that has disappeared! The same message is displaying when I try to add variations. If you are selling a non-branded product, how can you get around this problem?
