Seller refunded but wants to pay it back
Hi
I had an item go missing in delivery, tracking wasn’t updating and the item appeared to be lost.
The customer asked me for a refund which I obliged with. Typically the item then turned up the next day and was delivered to him.
He tells me he wants to pay me for it but can’t work out how.
Could you advise me on how to advise him, ideally a link to a page that says how to do it? Or can I re send a payment request?
Thanks in advance

Amazon is not geared up for taking payment after the fact. The only way you can possible to do so is to ask the buyer to purchase again and not send the item.

Or you could ask them to send you a cheque, cash or do a Direct Bank Transfer…
They get the goods, you get the money, but you may take a ‘hit’ against your stats

One solution would be to ask the customer to replace the order and you can mark it shipped.

At the moment there is limited service so that would be a quick solution to your issue.

No idea of the value but if its not too much and you had written it off with the refund, id thank them for their honesty and tell them not to worry, its on you. As many have said getting payment behind Amazons back or by creating bogus orders seems a faff and just not worth the risk.

Ask them to send a message to Amazon CS at http://www.amazon.co.uk/contact-us mentioning that the order was refunded due to non-delivery but has now arrived and could the card be charged again.
Some customers don’t do it but many will and the money will be marked as ‘Other’ in your account statement.

You have the customers address from the previous order, write to them, enclosing your bank details and ask to transfer. No message via amazon communication needed, no matrix issues and no trace of potentially doing business outside the platform. Explain all in the letter you send physically through the post.

Look in your order – there may be customer phone number in it. Then organise payment over the phone.
Or send them your details in a letter. You still have the address.
Do not send your details through Amazon system – I am pretty sure this is against the policy.

This happened to me with a delivery to Spain. Initially INR so I refunded. Then the customer said it arrived. I contacted SS who said that if the customer spoke to them they could take the payment. Customer did this 3 times for me. SS still did not process the payment. In the end I gave up for the sake of the customer - there’s only so many times you can ask them to contact Amazon. Luckily it was not a huge amount of money. As others have said - ask the customer to repurchase (even if the price is higher) then mark as shipped and refund the difference?

You could send a request for payment via paypal? or provide your bank details for them to make payment
