Cannot update detail page
Hi,
This is a strange one, possibly a software bug.
I am trying to update my listing for a parent ASIN, I have filled in all of the required fields on the listing details page but a red exclamation mark remains on ‘safety & compliance’ (I have also chosen 'more attributes in the corner). This means I cannot save the changes I make to the listing and therefore the listing will be suppressed without this ‘critical’ info.
I noticed that on the child ASIN there is an option to select ‘are batteries required?’, this seems to be a required field that is not showing on the parent ASIN detail page. I think this is the cause of the issue.
I’m looking for a way round this, seller support are telling me to delete the listing and start again… claiming that they can’t input that information for me. However I have 500 units of the product on the way to Amazon as we speak so this isn’t an option.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Hi,
I found the solution for this.
There’s a way to update your inventory from the back end using inventory files. It’s basically an excel version of the the listing details page that you can upload to make changes. There’s a column for the hidden compliance fields that are causing the error, fill them in as required and upload it to fix your listing. The templates can be downloaded and uploaded via the link below:

Probably best to update it as a ‘partial update’, meaning you can just update the fields your interested in without having to fill everything out.
As mentioned by postees1 it’s worth checking that your child listing is in the same category as the parent. To check this click on your product link and look at the search bar to see if it’s in the correct category. Sometimes the detail page says it’s in one category when it’s actually in a different one… If you need to change the category just get in touch with Seller Support and they will change the category for you.
Hope this helps

How have you got units on the way if the listing isn’t even active? How could you create a shipping plan?

Did you manage to fix this? I’m going through the exact same thing and all child ASINs are search suppressed

Check the categories for each of the Child listings and the Parent listing as well and make sure they all match and are correct. If one is being miscategorised then it may be requiring information the rest aren’t and causing a problem.
If you delete the Parent listing the Child listings will still function, just not on the same page as each other. You could then create a new Parent and connect the children to the new parent to get them all back on the same page.
Lastly, FBA products are matched to you and your offers by fnsku, not by ASIN, so you could delete the listings and recreate them so long as you create them with the same SKU. Once the new listing is in place the stock will be assigned to the new listing so long as the SKU matches. I don’t know if the stock needs to have already been checked in for this to work, though.
Also I’m not saying that doing this would fix the original issue. I don’t know if it would or not.
