I do not own the brand and so Amazon is telling me I have to use their barcodes and print labels to apply to the products or have Amazon do it. The costs are pretty random and have recently doubled overnight. Applying the labels ourselves is time-consuming. It says you can have the brand owner register the asin for virtual tracking but I can't find any information anywhere as to how they would go about this. If I can approach the manufacturer with specific instructions as to how they go about this I will have a better chance of getting them on board.

does anybody know if amazon requires GS1 barcodes to sell a product. Or does amazon give u barcodes themselves?

HI . so i recently purchased some gs1 codes so as to list new products .

however, when i do this , i get the error 8572 or one of the others such as

(5461, 5665, 8572, 8541)..ihave emailed amazon and they have said

to activate your gs1 , you need to list the product using those barcodes . incase , if you face any issue contact us with the screenshot ..I have done this and used a blank listing but still get the same error ..

really annoying and iam stuck as to how to resolve this. Amazons replys are not very helpful
