Hi. Currently I noticed that more returns have been marked with item disposition as “defective”, and these items are disposed of immediately.
Normally amazon holds “defective” and “customer damaged” returns for 30 days, and than dispose of if removal not requested.
Now it looks like they just mark as “defective” or “customer damaged” all customer returns and dispose of, even unopened and unused.
I’m selling food supplements. AZ FBA customer returns policy states they can disposed of immediately items like vitamins or items with expiration dates, lot numbers.
So they just dispose of because customer touched item (a bottle of food supplement).
I see this as unreasonable product wasting.
What do you think?

I guess the problem is with food supplements etc, they will not know if the item has been tampered with, and I certainly would not want to think that I was receiving an item that had been sent to someone else, returned and then sent to me, even if it looked unopened.
