Black Friday Week
Did anyone sell on the black friday week last year? Is it worth it now that it is the whole week etc? the fee is very high if you dont sell?
Also they have a MAx deal price? Which is a bit low, why would people buy it if you only giving a 10% off , i want to offer a real sale like 25% min. but it doesnt look like you can do that?

Black Friday is a contrived myth.
It’s purpose is to whip up consumers into a frenzy, where their decision making faculties are bypassed in the belief they are getting a bargain.

I have never seen the point. But that’s mainly because I expect promotions of this kind will have no effect on demand for what I sell. On the contrary, I expect demand for used books to decrease, as spending is directed towards consumer electronics and the like.

For us we don’t have the margins to offer the discount required to meet the criteria;
Submit your products for a Lightning Deal:
Lightning Deals are time-bound, promotional offers where a product is feature on the Amazon deals page for a limited number of hours. We are looking for Deals with:
• Minimum discount of 20%. The discount should be off the current website price and the Deal price must also be the lowest price in the past 30 days in that Marketplace.
• Enough quantity to last the duration of the Lightning Deal, which will run for a maximum of 6 hours (FR: 12 hours).
• Products that have a 3.0 star rating or higher.
• Product detail pages that match the style guide (image on white background and precise titles no more than 60 characters).
• Strikethrough prices that comply with the price display guidelines (link).
For FBA sellers: Inbound inventory
FBA inventory for Black Friday and Cyber Monday Week incl. Countdown to Black Friday Week must be received at an Amazon Fulfillment Cenater by 3rd November. You should send enough stock to cover the units committed to the deal and a spike in demand following the deal (suggested: units committed + 20%). For Pan-EU and EFN enabled ASINs, you only need to have sufficient fulfillable inventory in one EU FC in order to run the deal in any EU marketplace. If you are running a deal in multiple EU marketplaces, you must inbound enough stock to cover the units committed in each one.

No I never discount in the run up to Christmas.
Christmas trading is what produces the profit to let you last throughout the year.
Discounting in peak buying season is suicide as we can see from the number of high street collapses this year and the number of ‘zombie’ retailers who are on the edge of collapse and passing their debts onto to suppliers and landlords.
