Showing up on Google search

Hi all

I just wanted to pick someone’s brain who knows about google search better then I do.

I have been trying to make sure I am easy to find through Google, as I think most people use it to search. My problem is the following. When I type in “blackcatbooksuk”, both my Amazon and Ebay accounts show up. But when I type in “black cat books uk”, with the spaces, which is how it is on my business cards etc, it only finds my Ebay page and my Amazon presence doesn’t show up.

My question is, does anyone know how to get it to work with both variations? I am sure there most be an easy answer to it which has so far avoided me.

I don’t think there’s a lot you can do other than subscribing to AdWords when you can pay for more exposure on the right of the search page.

Google works in mysterious and highly secret ways and yes, you can tweak your own website pages to boost the chances of you being found high in the rankings.

But as this is on Amazon where you have no control. It depends on how google trawls the Amazon site and also how amazon have their site setup for search engines.

What I suggest is that you add Black Cat Books UK somewhere in your profile, maybe more than once, ie on different section, eg faq, returns, etc. That way, you might be found better.

When I search BlackCatbooks or Black Cat Books you come up on both searches at the top very slightly differing order with spaces as Black Cat Publishing also come up, but looks fine. Your seach results will be different searching your own company.

We use Adwords and have for several years for our main site

Worth remembering also is that Google has no love for Amazon at all. They suppress listing quite often for Amazon content.

Don’t forget to include H, H1, paragraph etc header tags in your eBay and own website listings as Google love well formatted text with styles attached. If you use wordpress or even if you don’t Yoast have some good content on SEO optimisation including how to write good content using the correct tags and frequency of keywords related to your products. You used to be able to do this on Amazon but they removed a lot of HTML customisation as far as I know.
