Can't list a product with a GTIN-8

I’m trying to list a product with a GTIN-8 (product with small surface area, so allowed a smaller barcode). Amazon’s system refuses to acknowledge it, as it say’s it’s not enough digits. Any advice as to how I list it? Thanks

 No. The two guys on Help Chat had no idea what I was talking about. Had to send them screenshots on the GS1 website which explains that not all GTIN are 13 digits.
