Amazon Prime Day Help! Coupon Creation: Insufficient Sales History ASINs do not have sufficient sales history. Discount Requirements NOT Met
Coupon Creation: How do I address this error?:
- Insufficient Sales History ASINs do not have sufficient sales history: Seller Help Pages literally tell me to go and make sure that there is a reference price. (Obviously my listing would not be active if there was no 'reference' price because it would be suppressed already..)
- And YES I am very well aware of the FACT that I was the FIRST seller to list most of these products that I have not yet sold....so obviously there is no sales history on Amazon...I am trying to drop my prices for Prime Day (early prep because I add an average of 70-90 products PER COUPON AND then when I am done, I only have 3-8 products posting up... tha sucks...
Error #2: Discount Requirements not met: How Low Are We EXPECTED to keep going??? (to qualify our inventory into this whole coupons thing)..Every time I drop my prices, I wait a few mins then I get told that it is STILL too high..Here is an example error message:
- Show details (2)
- Discount Requirements not met
- Maximum Price with Coupon : $88.64
- Current Price with Coupon : $114.39
- Coupon Discount must be increased by at least $25.75 for the coupon to be eligible
- Discount Requirements not met
- This ASIN's current price recently increased to $129.99
- Decrease your current price by $8.69 for the coupon to be eligible
Well, isn't that just great? I had this ASIN listed as the seller with the LOWEST PRICE with a total of 8 sellers including me LAST WEEK. Now, the lower I drop my prices (which are being apparently compared to what everyone else is doing....! ...The more other people drop their prices...then the more ASINs I have getting thrown right back into this error message.

Update!! so I have a pro selling account…just like most of us do…so I started adding “reference prices” to my products that were getting this coupon suppression and they’re STILL suppressed!
I don’t get it…
- By the way, now, it’s going beyond the brands or products I was the first one to introduce to Amazon. Now it’s a lot more like 98% of my active inventory is ineligible for coupon deals… when I still have inventory that was already part of Amazon’s catalog where I just added myself to the listings.
- no matter how much I drop my prices…to follow the instructions, the more the error messages continue to tell me to drop my list price.. am I misunderstanding this? Because I’m adjusting the price that I have the item listed for, but am I supposed to be adjusting the coupons dollar amount/percentage to comply with the price point that amazon wants me to be at?
Boosting Ranking, Increasing Sales & Promotions Options
- Any recommendations of other options of how to get the ‘free’ promotions of my product listings?
Meaning I don’t want to pre pay for promoted listings. I don’t want to do pay per click. I like coupons because it really only charges me when there is a guaranteed sale that comes out of the use of this feature.
