Target Price for RM 24

I am about to renegotiate my RM 24 rates after I have found out that I am paying quite a lot. I am wondering what my target price should be. I know people don't like to divulge what they are paying but maybe you could suggest what I should be aiming for if shipping about 10,000 per year with an average weight of 800 grams. I already have daily collections.

Thanks.

Same as above, around 3.20 for parcel and 2.40 for LBT with around 12% fuel surcharge.

We ship rm24/rm48 about 25,000 to 30,00 most under 100g per year large letters? Is there any discounts here for us too.

Worth asking?

Our tracked 24 price is over £7 - and a terrible service.

Make claiming for parcels impossible too.

Hi I've been selling online for over 20 years, Ive always used RM and find their Tracked 24 and LL 24 services 99% OK. I don't touch any 48 services as they have caused me problems in the past !

A RM Business Account will open up opportunities for postal cost saving,

both on Large Letters and Parcels

The RM Costing quote will depend on Average Weight and number of parcels sent per annum.

Mine is less than their Click and Drop price and is based on Royal Mail Tracked 24 – 5,000 items a year @ <1kg ave weight , mostly delivered in 1or 2 days .

Also when considering their quote. I would advise doing a bit of homework on comparisons ., Look what EVRI would charge you (although I would never use them personally!) and charges on their own RM Click and Drop

For a Small operation the RM Click and drop service, may give better pricing , and their is also the free pickup to consider when using this service !

It would be so much easier if we all were given the amazon rates like all other courier options as you can actually buy the T24 or T48 on the royal mail site for around £3.39 - £4.45 inc vat on a single parcel rate.

There are several factors that Royal Mail will look at in determining a price per item for you.

As you are posting around 10k items per year i am guessing you have a dedicated account manager rather than through the account managed team?

RM24/48 and CRL are pretty much non negotiable, unless a mega poster.

Tracked services are the service that are negotiable ones T24 T48 and Tracked Returns.

Factors that will determine your personalized PPI are....

Size of average parcel, weight of average parcel, amount of items posted per year.

Generally, tracked bulk prices go down at 5k postings, then 10k posting etc.

You will generally find that switching everything to tracked from RM/CRL will be a very nice saving.

currently RM24 parcel up to 1kg is £6.03 whereas a T24 negotiated parcel can be around £4. (these prices include the surcharges)

Whatever your baseline number is... you have to add on 4p per parcel Green Surcharge, then add 8% fuel surcharge, then add 20% VAT to the total amount.(and at Xmas 5p - 10p Xmas surcharge + VAT)

At around 10k postings you should be aiming for around £2.90 -£3.10 per parcel (plus surcharges) and £2.40 - £2.60 per LL (plus surcharges)

The switch from RM/CRL to fully tracked not only saves you a shed full of cash but also gives you end to end tracking with full compensation for lost/damaged parcels, as long as you continue to hit the per annum postings.

It also gives you free collections 6 days a week.

Bear in mind that Tracked prices are due to go up soon when the annual increase kicks in.
