Advice - Defective item
Hi - my product is FBA
Been selling well - and then I noticed today it was marked as “defective” and not listed.
I have contacted seller support who in turn told me to wait 12 hours for the fulfilment centre to advice me as they have not put any notes on the system as to why this is
Do others have experience in this?
Should I send in more products for this listing?
Any advice will be appreciated…

Why would you do that before finding out what the issue with existing stock is?
If it turns out all your existing stock has been damaged somehow then yes, at that point you could send in replacements, but if there is a safety issue or something that Amazon are concerned about then sending in more would only exacerbate the problem for you.
Wait until tomorrow for the fulfilment centre to update you.

is there a chance they have put defective - but its a customer complain?

Could you post a screenshot of the “defective” status and where are you seeing it?
Are your units marked as unfulfillable due to being damaged, customer returns sent back in an unsellable condition or something else?

Is that all your units for an ASIN marked as defective or just one unit?
If it’s not all the units there are a few possibilities:
- Marked defective when received into FC - product may have been damaged by inbound courier
- Marked defective in the FC - this might be a temporary status while they determine whether or not the item was damaged in the FC or damaged/defective beforehand but not noticed
- Marked defective upon customer return - this again may be temporary while they inspect the product, or could be the permenant status because the product cannot be resold in its current condition.
In most of these cases wait a few days and if it’s not resolved then:
- Customer return - remove or dispose
- Warehouse damaged - should be automatically reimbursed
- Defective on receipt into FC - may need to raise a case with Seller Support for investigation/reimbursement.

they have come back saying the item does not match the goods in the description
but i KNOW this is not true. Is this possibly a mix up in the warehouse
advice?

Lmao, that is perils of FBA, your unit could be perfect but the customers will say anything so they dont need to pay return postage. All is not lost…if they dont return you get cost price reimbursed or if return you can get it sent back to yourself. Not woth it unless its expesive items as 90% never get back, lol
I was lucky this year only 30 + returns over Xmas but most was for goods over £30 but just keep an eye on what you are selling…Im sure if you get 2 or 3 bad reviews its not worth it!

its a customer complain… so basically they have the right to say all my product (or products) are defective IF a customer customer complains
Then I have to pay to get it back?
