Vat Registration
I have created a UK selling account and posted my products, I am fulfilling everything from outside the EU, I don't live in the UK.
Im still waiting for my vat number
I have noticed that I can't get any buy boxes,
Do I need a vat number to be eligible for featured offer?

Is your account fully verified yet ? - unlikely if you have still not received your VAT number. If you do not live in UK but plan to store your goods in UK for FBA then you do need to be VAT registered. I am not sure if the VAT number has any bearing on featured offer ?

I doubt it the VAT number. It is more likely that as new seller you are not eligible for the buy box.
Buy Box eligibility comes when you have reached Amazon's (unpublished) criteria. This is normally after a period of time or so many sales.
Also check your account health to make sure your order defect rate is below 1%. If you have had any A-Z's or negative feedback this can cause your defect rate to drop below 1% and you can the lose your buy box.
