Sole Trader to Limited Company transfer

It’s finally that time. I have registered as a limited company and now have to switch to a Limited company on amazon from a sole trader.

From other users experience, what do I need to look out for and what do I need to have ready to give to amazon?
Ideally I want minimum downtime on my account but I can imagine it will get suspended once I apply as is tradition.

A little checklist or any issues people have ran into would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
(also I did have a looka round on the forum first and really there would be loads of threads about this but only found one with no replies, maybe my search is broken?)

I did that last December and it was completely uneventful.

I just selected “transfer account”, entered all the details, changing from 1 sole trader to 2 directors. My FBM listings went inactive and I didn’t realise for a few hours before reactivating them. FBA was fine.

I still haven’t been asked for any company documents which is odd but everything is ready if and when the question comes. Maybe my situation is so straight forward and above board that they have everything they need. Both directors had previously been verified anyway.

I chose to get a new VAT number for the LTD so VCS had to be disabled and re-enabled. There was a few days downtime but I didn’t have any business orders during that time so no need to upload invoices.

I find the forum search function terrible - always seems to link to posts that have been closed !

We did ours 8 years ago and it was a doddle back then. However, just like @NoOneToldMeIHadTo, it took a while to update the bank account. We were with Santander back then and there were two bank accounts on the roll. Eventually, they did remove the sole trader.

We were asked for the usual documents, Articles of Association, Certificate of Incorporation, Share Certificates, Beneficial Owner details. The whole process (apart from the removal of the old bank account) took only a few hours.

Hi guys.

I’ve clicked “Transfer Account”

I can’t seem to change any details, it’s just some tick boxes which are greyed out and set to “Sole Proprietor”, My name as the business name and address is greyed out too.

I’m trying to change it from sole prop to ltd company. theres a business name change but the address etc is all the same.

I just don’t have any control over changing anything with the transfer account method and I don’t even see Ltd company listed as an option.

Am i meant to tick past all of the first bit and accept it?

Just looked at my case log and my question was almost exactly the same as yours with similar response ! I had contacted verification team before hitting account transfer I think after after seeing advice on here. They were very quick to respond each time I had a problem / submitted info though not necessarily with exact answer I was after. I knew I had everything required in format required and had a few **** it moments where I just pressed the button.
