Read onlyIf I follow sell a product that is suspected to be counterfeit and I don't sell it, will Amazon close the account as well?
I didn't have my account closed by Amazon, but one of my friend's account was closed by Amazon and I would like to inquire here. I'm curious what Amazon's reasons are for doing this.
Thanks.
if amazon have enough evidence to believe you to be selling counterfeit goods, then yes they’ll close your account because you are selling counterfeit goods. That’s the reason. Even if you don’t actually sell any but just list on a listing believed to be counterfeit.
It’s hard to offer more advice without more information though.
My guess is that you're mistaken about cause and effect. When Amazon closes your friend's account, it means they think the account is selling counterfeits under asin, not that asin is a counterfeit!
There are many sellers selling under an asin at the same time, however, there are some sellers who may be distributing second hand or counterfeit items to buyers, which inevitably creates repercussions for the asin, and is not allowed by Amazon.
To answer your previous question. Even if you and your friend are selling under asin at the same time, but if you can prove that your product is genuine, then you are safe.
