Inventory file upload issue-variation problem
Hello everyone!
Errors have been reported when I uploaded the new color variation template of the product. They are the same product with different color.
It always comes with the error codes 8040, 6039 : “You may not create new variation relationships for this Brand.”, “Merchant is not authorized to sell products under this restricted product group.”
Has anyone ever dealt with this issue?
We would much appreciate for your kind help!

I have two questions that would help me to better troubleshoot your issue:
- Did you open a case with Seller Support? If yes, would you mind providing me with the case ID?
- Are you brand registered?

Hi there,
Did you get this resolved, we are also a brand owner experiencing the same issue.
We have been uploading variations for years, up until 2 weeks ago with no issue… now there is a problem. Amazon say it’s denied due to policy but can’t tell us why?
I feel it is an issue with Amazon Brand Registry but they claim all is registered and fine with our brands?

also seeing the same issue, seller support being cryptic as always. Even though its my brand “Due to confidentiality, we cannot disclose the factors behind the decision.”
So really not sure how to get around it, have tried other variations which may be the issue but who knows

It appears to be a full meltdown of Variations as the Variation Wizard is no longer generating reports… so can’t even add new titles to existing Variation Groups? Its very frustrating to hide behind ‘confidentiality’ or ‘its against a policy, of which we can not tell you which’ when it just appears to be an error that has occured in last 2 weeks.
Let us know if you have any success and we will if we have?
