Amazon Literally Takes NO Responsibility for ANYTHING! U Have to see this to Believe!!! Credit Card Issues!

Been Selling on Amazon since the very beginning. Heck, I was personally responsible for a good amount of their catalogue in many of their catagories, but in the decades here, this is really getting incredibly insulting as AI (is destroying Amazon) Its just proving over and over its not smarter than a 5th grader. (you have to see this screen shot)

- Infact, it brings up (3) of my pet-peeves.

  1. Why are sellers hit with Chargebacks? - (Amazon accepts the Customers Credit Card - and authorizes it)
  2. Why is a Chargeback on the sellers defect dashboard - we didn't see or accept the Credit Card, Amazon verified buyer.
  3. How can a buyer have an unverified address? Explain, if the credit card is being held til it verifies to clear, how can we get anything returned, No Such Address, etc... - We have to cancel items everyday - because the address given is un-shippable as given. (Explain to me, why that is not in the drop-down for valid cancellation not showing up as a cancel defect) Amazon IF a buyer doesnt know where they live, how can they expect us to ship it to them, safely and efficently?

Below - it even shows how in-ept the CSA of a billion-dollar a day company really is.. ( I hope its AI ) Not a Human, because appearently customers are now charging themselves, according to this message below. Amazon takes no responsibility. Passes it along to the seller.... even things we never see!

Not written real clearly, but I think they are saying that the buyer selected the wrong card to pay with, and would instead like to use the card ending in 9987. Of course, you have absolutely no control over their payment method and have no access to their credit card info at all. Typically the Amazon customer service reps just pass along whatever the buyer says even if it makes no sense in the Amazon system. Just respond like you would if they wrote it to you directly explaining that you have no access to their payment details and can't change anything with the payment method they chose since Amazon has full and complete control over that.

Hello @Seller_YvPJcV8cv0Kiu

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

In this case, I would suggest opening a case with our Support team for additional guidance regarding payment for this order. If you already have a case opened and need additional assistance, please feel free to provide the case ID number to this thread and I can review the correspondence already provided.

In reference to chargeback claims, please note that the seller is responsible for chargebacks filed against their account for service-related reasons, such as non-receipt of the product. Amazon is responsible for any payment-related fraud chargebacks, such as stolen credit cards or other payment fraud attempts. This thread provides additional detail on chargeback claims for your reference if needed.

Regards,

Quincy_Amazon

1. Why are sellers hit with Chargebacks?

It is because the seller sold the product to the buyer, not Amazon. In the seller agreement, sellers give Amazon permission to simply collect the payment for the seller. Therefore, defending the charge back is the seller's responsibility.

2. Why is a Chargeback on the seller's defect dashboard?

That is because Jeff Bezos wanted things to work that way. it keeps sellers on their toes, so they don't take advantage of buyers, and it makes it easier to remove sellers from the site.

3. How can a buyer have an unverified address?

The answer is found behind the scenes, and it is designed to protect Amazon.

A. New housing developments are created every day in the country, and the street addresses have not been entered in the USPS data base.

B. Some new housing developments have all the mailboxes in one unit with multiple stacked locked boxed, at the development's entrance. These are not suitable for the delivery of packages, so "Amazon" calls the address Undeliverable to stop the paying out of INR claims.

c. Some buyers have rural street addresses, but their mail is always delivered in their post office box and must be personally picked up in the local post office. Many of these buyers have learned how easy it is to use the street address, knowing the item will never be delivered there. Then they claim to Amazon the item never arrived. Amazon refunds and the product is free, at the seller's expense. "Amazon" has made these addresses as undeliverable.

Now, just because Amazon calls the address undeliverable, the seller can simply go off the site and find that the address is actually deliverable. the difference is, the seller has to take the risk, not Amazon.

That's insane!

Wouldn't it be easier for the buyer to simple cancel the order and then re-order with the correct card?

Sellers don't have the means to conduct such a task. This is on the buyer who made a mistake, so they should be the one to fix the problem.

Wow, just wow.

Hope it all works out for you :)

Huge training opps at both the CS and Seller "Support". Support team is natourious for templates, they respond with the most random answers. Feels like 90% of the team has no clue. I am not sure they know who they work for. They are probably sitting at a coffee shop clicking "next"....

1... Change Credit Card

The Customer can contact amazon customer service Team to change the credit card, I do many times, I Hope in this case, customer contacted a noob associate, He did not know how to Process. so He used the contact seller option, NOTE : It can be seen by Buyer, Its really bad response Don't do it again

2...why USPS says the item undeliverable,

1) They ask the buyer to collect the item from their office

2)The driver could not find the location

3)Sometimes If the driver shift is end, He just mark the item as undeliverable

It happens but the customer should have been told to cancel and repurchase. Or as some said, they may be able to just change the card. We have no ability to charge the card.

I would have sent a more professional sounding response back though. I think you can do that and include to apologize that the person who sent the email did not properly do her job by directing you to the proper department. And I will be sure to report to her supervisor (even though I would not because Amazon could not care less about inept CSR's).

The "Reason for contact" message was written most likely from a rep in the Philippines. I would say it was written exactly how they speak English over the phone when calling into Seller Support. Translation is, "The customer has changed their mind and used the wrong card when placing the order. The customer now wants their original card refunded and to have the new card they just added to their account (after the order was shipped) to be charged for this purchase.". This would not be possible since the order has already shipped and this is also something that Amazon billing would have control over as you stated correctly Amazon is only one that charges credit cards. Then Amazon on purpose also makes it impossible for a customer to speak with anyone in that department. If Amazon was truly a customer-centered company they would have resolved this issue right when the customer called in by passing them onto the billing department but of course we all know that would never happen.

The rep. should have been honest with the buyer and to tell them, sorry but the order has already shipped. This really is a problem that Amazon refuses to resolve because they are really outsourcing this call center labor to another company. If they truly wanted to resolve this issue it would be to employ workers directly in the US to field these phone calls (both seller support and customer service) and it would be a simple training session if a worker happened to make the same mistake.

But in the end Amazon the "Wall Street Business Model Subsidized Company" is looking to cut costs even though this is one of the few businesses they actually make money from, the 3rd party seller. In fact this business (3rd party seller fees) makes more money than the AWS.

I understand how frustrated and idiotic this message was but the only thing I would say for you is to be careful on how you respond to these messages because this is a message that the customer is also seeing as it was sent on their behalf through their order. They would easily see it in their messaging inbox.
