Merchant is not authorized to sell products under this GL and product type (PTD)
We’ve been selling these products on Amazon for years but the wholesale price has gone up so I went and did bulk update on the selling prices via the software we use for listing (linnworks).
But after updating the prices I’m getting the error message
“Merchant is not authorized to sell products under this GL and product type (PTD).”
This is only one some of the child products not all
so for example if there are white and black options then only a few sizes of the black are affected.
All the product types are underwear which we have permission to sell and have thousands of ASIN’s listed) and some of the items are our best sellers.
So not sure where to go from here.
Any clues.
EDIT: Looking at the products it seems that they are all also sold by Amazon themselves and have only kicked me off the colour/size combinations that they aren’t selling themsleves. That looks a bit fishy.
EDIT 2: After further investigation they have moved nearly all the ASIN’s into the Health & Personal Care category which will be causing the problem.
Which is ridiculous as something like ASIN B01H0N8V5K is just a plain white cotton vest.

This might have been done by a bot and it appears to be mistaken.
Not much we can do here so I suggest you raise a case with Seller Support listing all the affected ASINs, probably no more than 10 per case, requesting that they are moved to the correct category, whatever that might be.

Ok nope, what fun I’m going to have tomorrow, going to have to do it all by hand and then run the risk of Amazon coming back to me and saying “no sorry we’ve made the decision to put the underwear & T-shirts into the Health & Personal care and we don’t care” - if it comes to that I’m good friends with the Brand owners who sell direct to Amazon so see if they can put them right on it.

Well I finally got to the bottom of why this was happening.
I haven’t got a resolution yet but at least I know WHY it was happening.
Just by chance I noticed in the URL when attempting to edit in SS that there was a product type of SEXUAL_WELLNESS instead of UNDERWEAR or SHIRT.
But if anyone wants to take a look at ASIN B01H0N91VS - which has been given a product type of SEXUAL_WELLNESS instead of SHIRT - you can see there is no way that this should of been given that product type.
Just now need to convince Amazon with a new spreadsheet showing each ASIN that has been given the wrong product type that they should change it.
