Using Hellium 10, I discovered my FBA product was listed in the wrong category and was therefore incurring a higher referral fee compared to other sellers of the same product.
So I changed the product category to the same as all the other sellers of like-for-like products and it was all accepted and updated and the referral fee then reflected was at the lower rate - same as all other sellers.
My BSR took a hit due to the change of category, but I felt it was worth it because I would now be paying 5.1% less in referral fee than I was paying previously for each sale.
Few days later the referral fee had risen again prompting me to open numerous cases (due to the merry-go-round that seller support is) and have been given all sorts of nonsensical reasons to justify the fee’s are correct.
I have sent screenshots from Hellium 10 showing that my product is classed differently to all other sellers of exactly the same product (with the same metrics for dimension/weight etc) and as a result my competition are paying less in fees than me - but they keep ignoring the evidence and tell me nonsense.
Sounds daft but if its the same product and in the correct category, why aren’t you listing on that asin ?
It sounds like you were okay with the category until you saw others sellers selling the same type of product were in a different category? You haven’t given any info on the actual product, but is it possible you were in the correct category and the other sellers are not?
