FBA Unsellable Inventory

Hi Guys

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn’t see it…

I’ve just moved a number of my products to FBA and it’s working well. I’ve just received an email saying:

"We want to let you know that your Fulfilment by Amazon inventory listed below became unsellable within the past 7 days because it is no longer in sellable condition.

FNSKU: xxxxxxxxx Quantity: 1
FNSKU: xxxxxxxxx Quantity: 1

According to the terms of the FBA Required Removals policy ( https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/help.html/?itemID=202000820&ref_=au_202000820_h_r0_cont_sgsearch ), we are requesting that you remove the unsellable items shown above from fulfilment centres within the next 30 days. If you do not create a Removal Order before 24/10/2018, Amazon will dispose of the items. Removal fees will apply.

Instructions for submitting a Removal Order are located in the Remove inventory ( https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/200280650 ) help article in Seller Central. You can also enable the Automated Unfulfillable Removals function ( https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/help/200678710?ie=UTF8&Version=1&entries=0& ) to remove unsellable inventory automatically.

You can identify your unsellable inventory at any time using the Inventory Health Report ( https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/ssof/reports/search.html#orderAscending=&recordType=INVENTORY_HEALTH&noResultType=&merchantSku=&fnSku=&FnSkuXORMSku=&reimbursementId=&orderId=&genericOrderId=&asin=&shipmentId=&problemType=ALL_DEFECT_TYPE ). This report will provide you with the list and number of unsellable items."

Can someone explain what the financial impact of this is please? Do I get reimbursed for these two products by Amazon? Is this an automatic process? Is it best to request a removal order for these two products as I would imagine they will still be resellable?

Thanks guys!

They are probably returns so unless you do a removal order, they will be disposed of at your cost. It’s for you to decide if you want them back or not.

There is a setting in Seller Central to automate the removal to weekly, every 2 weeks or every month.

If you go to Manage FBA Inventory , in the Unfulfilable column click the down arrow and it shows the reason, for example;

Unfulfillable Reason Units
Customer damaged

1
Defective

1
Total

2

But do you know what the actual reason for this is? It may be they have been damaged in the warehouse and they should be refunding you for them. This is the way it shows up on your account but does not actually mean what it looks as if it does.

I don’t have much stock at Amazon and so far they have managed to damage several items of my stock. I am less than impressed with FBA, not sure if I will send any more stock to them, it has been an expensive waste of time and money so far, I sell far more myself. If they can’t even store the stock without damaging it why should I send them more to damage?

When I saw the same notification you got I thought it meant I had to request the return of the items and when I contacted SS about it they explained it was not necessary for me to request returns as it was stock they had damaged. So it may just be the same thing and you would get a load of junk back having paid the cost to have it returned

However, I am now having a fight with them to get the right payment for the items they have managed to damage. They replied to me earlier telling me that they remove vat from the total and pay it to HMRC, what a bunch of idiots they are. My items are zero rated so how dare they deduct vat from my items and pay it to HMRC. Plus they also deduct their fee and commission?? Excuse me, I send you stock you damage it and charge me a fee and commission for doing so and I get back less than the value of the item. I think I will be keeping the rest of my stock safe in my own store in the future.

I have been in business for many years and never ever once has stock been damaged by us in our store. Amazon has it for half an hour and they have managed to damage 4 boxes so far. Then they charge me for the privilege. What a farce.
