AMAZON, Stop Sending 'Parcel May Be Lost' Warnings!

I am going to keep posting this everytime we get a INR that we know is fraudulent

5 today out of 60 orders.

Why are you sending emails to customers, suggesting that their order might be lost or missing, when the delivery method is just Royal Mail 2nd Class with no tracking involved?

We buy the labels directly from Amazon, which should be more than sufficient. Instead, these messages only open the door for fraudulent customers to exploit the situation and request a free refund. We’re able to address most cases by providing the customer with the label, and then we proceed to file a compensation claim with Royal Mail.

On our website, non-deliveries are rare, occurring roughly once in 2,000 orders. However, on Amazon, the rate seems to be more like one in 75, revealing the high level of fraudulent activity on the platform.

Last two:

Hello ,package didn't arrive

Hi, my updates say that the package has been lost. I would like to request a refund.

I got one with exactly the same wording as the last one. It sounds like scammers are trying it on. I bet they send that message to everybody.

One of the forum mods said they would look into this weeks ago but I suspect nothing will change.

We get these every single day, and Amazon is the only platform it happens on. When we reply to say, funny that, royal mail are showing its been delivered, they vanish. Its really bizarre how they never ever ask for a replacement, i mean.. you order something, you'd presume they actually want the item right?? - nah, ill keep the item ive received and steal from the small business instead.

Ive been selling online for over 20 years and in that time I've NEVER had someone on Ebay or my own website reporting missing items , only weekly reports on Amazon!

After getting the following Amazon message, which probably always follows the "Parcel May be lost message"

"I still have not received my order even though the estimated delivery date has passed. Can you expedite the shipment or provide additional tracking information for my order no. 202-1xx etc, if the item is expected to arrive soon, or otherwise process a full refund?"

I send the following message

"Hi Thank you for your message.

To protect us both the package was sent by a Royal Mail GPS Tracked on delivery service., so we can check where the item current location as it goes through the RM system

As the item would fit through a letterbox , perhaps someone has put it somewhere safe , and forgot to tell you?

As the item is showing as delivered ,Perhaps you would check again and advise me , before I contact the Royal Mail Investigation Branch re your non receipt claim .

Kind Regards "

Seems to have worked for me against Scammers on the last 3 occasions !

Not heard anything more off them!

You are welcome to try my message and see if it works for you , RM should be able to confirm off their palm pilot which postperson delivered it especially if you are claiming for non delivery .

Every now and again, you get the ones that really go for it with little stories like

This £3.00 Mickey Mouse keychain was for my daughter's birthday, it would have meant so much to her. It never arrived, which left me feeling so guilty, embarrassed and ashamed, my daughter was absolutely devastated. I am so angry, you have completely destroyed my daughter's life!!! Refund me immediately as my daughter's birthday has now passed!!!!

I'm thinking of putting them in a book and trying for the Booker Prize.

Yes - Amazon is facilitating FRAUD by providing customers with FALSE INFORMATION

I have to agree the INR rate for Amazon is an Outlier in a huge way. We sell on Multiple platforms and rarely get Item not received, like super rare. Yet on Amazon its daily. Same couriers being used.

Typically it is an email

Amazon has told me my item maybe lost and I can have a refund, please refund.

Then if you check on some you can see they were delivered, the customer is notified and suddenly a neighbour had it, their son had forgot to mention it, or it was in a pile of mail.

We had one where the customer denied receipt, but the postal worker, get this remembered handing the box to the customer on their drive as their son was going away.

When the customer was provided that information they suddenly vanished.

The issue is for me not so much the scammers, but two fold

1, Amazon telling people they can have a refund on an item or that their item has been lost. This prompts scammers to try it on for a refund. Realistically if you know your waiting on an Item, you dont need prompting to be told it has not arrived. All that does is prompt the scammers to try it on

2, The scammers need removing. As a business I would feel so much happier if I knew these bad buyers were actually being removed. We get emails saying, oh a review has been removed from a bad faith actor. How about, bad faith customer removed. We dont need to know their details, but we do need to know something is being done.

I get the same, people trying it on each time they see the message from amazon. Amazon is persuading customers to lie and claim the money back killing us hard working sellers trying to make a living paying bills and expenses relying on Amazon.
