EPA registration issue

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has been through this and can give me some advice.

Amazon recently removed/deactivated my listing for a filter showerhead B0F52SZCFY, B0F52GZFQG saying it’s identified as a pesticide or pesticide device and they’re asking for an EPA registration number or proof of exemption.

Here’s the situation:

My product is a beauty shower filter

It uses pure carbon filters to reduce chlorine, rust, and heavy metals from the water.

I’ve never made any claims about killing bacteria, mold, viruses, pests, etc. It’s really just for better skin and hair.

The description and bullet points only talked about cosmetic and material benefits.

I was planning to update the title and bullet points to make it even clearer (removing anything that might be misinterpreted), but since Amazon deactivated the listing, I can’t edit it anymore.

I already submitted an appeal explaining that this product isn’t a pesticide or pesticide device and doesn’t need an EPA registration number—it’s just a water filter for cosmetic use.

Has anyone else had this happen?

How did you prove your product was exempt?

Did you need to upload a specific document or just explain it in the appeal?

I’d really appreciate any tips or advice on how to move forward. Thanks so much!

Good Morning @Seller_nClb6y5ijOsq2,

I wanted to reach out to you to see if you still required assistance with this issue?

I am sharing a discussion -->HERE<-- my colleague @Glenn_Amazon wrote about on how to handle ASINs that are possibly being misclassified as a pesticide and what to do.

If the ASINs are being rejected and still need an EPA number, please take a look at another post my colleague @Glenn_Amazon shared -->HERE<-- to learn more about EPA numbers and their importance.

If you have been working with Selling Partner Support on an appeal CASE ID, please share that with us too so we can begin investigating how we can better help. Looking forward to hearing back from you again soon. Have a lovely rest of your weekend.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Good Evening @Seller_nClb6y5ijOsq2,

I took a look at the latest cases filed and it appears ASIN B0F52GZFQG has been reinstated as of 7 days ago per CASE ID ending in 8861.

However, ASIN B0F52SZCFY has not been reinstated yet and I do not see any new cases filed with the Restricted Product team in getting it reinstated, so I have gone ahead and escalated it myself with the last few cases you have raised.

The partner should get back to us within the next few business days. Until then, wonderful rest of the week and take care.

Sincerely, Cooper_Amazon

Good Morning @Seller_nClb6y5ijOsq2,

I wanted to follow up with you as I heard back from the team and let you know that ASIN B0F52SZCFY should be reinstated as of May 16th, 2025. I took a look at the website and can see it listed live.

With that great news, I hope you marvelous rest of your Monday! 🎉

Cheers, Cooper_Amazon
