Customers contactacting sellers direct in regards to FBA orders-is it a Scam?
Hi
I am wondering if anyone can give any advice as how to handle the following .
In recent months we have had a number of Buyers who have purchased through FBA , that have received their order and then have contacted us to state damaged on arrival., but they would like to keep the product for a discount .
Generally this should be Amazons responsibility , however I have once appeased the buyer by offering a 25% discount on the product , thinking this would save a lot of hassle in the long run and would be more cost efficient in the long run .
Only for the buyer to receive the refund and then immediately return the product to Amazon for a further full refund…
Has anyone else had this experience and if so do you just direct them to request a return via the Amazon website?

If Amazon have refunded twice, this is something you can ask for reimbursement.

best to leave all customer service to amazon, after all, that is what we pay for when using FBA. always point them to amz cs should you be contacted.

Even if you give a partial refund, Amazon should be deducting this from the full refund.
So you can contact them to get a refund from them for the partial.
However, I would suggest that you make it a policy, to simply refer anything like this back to Amazon customer support, and just let them get on with it.
That is what your paying them for.

thank you for your replies ,
i think actually the buyer got the discount from me and then requested a replacement from Amazon ,

When I buy , i am nearly always asked if i would like a replacement and given a period of time (i think 30 days) to return the order)
But great advice ,I just revert them back to Amazon
