Amazon FBA is bad business to start for beginners. Walmart has lower fees.

Guys, Amazon is really in control of everything. I listened to Youtube videos and started my Amazon FBA journey, and I have now lost tens of thousands of dollars. Amazon FBA is a really bad business idea for people does not have much experience or background. Walmart has a much lower fee compared to Amazon. I know that because I started my Amazon and walmart store at the same time. and so far Amazon has charged me over ten thousand of storage fees and removal order fees. Guys, make sure you ship as little as possible to Amazon at the beginning. or the cost of storage and shipping fees will be overwhelming and you won't even know how much you will be charged until the charges are posted on your account. at the end of the day, it is because you have little to no control or oversight over Amazon FBA. I am not saying Walmart is perfect, but if things do not work out, you will lose less money on Walmart since they have fewer and lower fees.

Your first problem was watching youtube videos. If you properly researched and went to Seller University (Amazon's guide to selling), you may have had a better go of it.

You must be totally a rookie if you just figured out that starting with FBA is a bad idea.

There are dozens (hundreds) of posts about learning doing FBM BEFORE you move to FBA.

Could have saved yourself a lot of money from the sounds by doing a little prep work first.

With 0 prior knowledge I started with Amazon FBA. 1st thing I did was calculate storage, fees and shipping costs. If anything it is less than I calculated because they give a 5% discount for the 1st million, occasional free vine etc. they key I found is to not overstock from the start. I made small orders, got crushed in shipping, and grew as I learned. if anything FBA made it all far simpler than I expected dealing with 12 and growing to 60 variants over 4 months. I dont think I could have done it without FBA. Avoid utube, Amazon has great knowledgebase and Helium 10 has some great advice. Worth the monthly fee to binge all the knowledge in a month.

We do not do FBA. We would sell more if we did. We buy in larger quantities and sit on goods for a year or more. We built our own warehouse, and the profit is good. So, no FBA.

You did not do as others have said. Research is most important when starting any business. FBA is good for companies that have a good product and no place to keep it. We do not do Walmart.

I am been selling on Amazon for 10 years and now I think it's over for me.

Over suddenly all my shipments have been splitting in 3 ways.

and send all over a country.

First shipment PICK at Ca send to Ca as it always was but because I send less amount '

it cost me the same as I was sending whole shipment. cost of this shipment $549 cost per unit $3.12

Second shipment Pick up at Ca and send to Florida right across the country for $840 cost per unit $6.36

this is all I make per unit.

Third shipment pick up again in CA and send to BALTIMORE another way across the country

cost $840.63 cost per unit $6.36

Total cost of the shipment is $2,230.45

What should I do all this 10 years of hard work wasted.

I do not have income anymore. All my profit will go to pay for shipping.

PLEASE, SOMEBODY HELP

Now I tried to do Placement services, because everybody advise me about it

Again they send it from CA to TX again across a country. WHY THEY AT LEAST SEND IT FROM CA TO CA!!!

cost of the shipment

$2,033.94 plus placement fee $528.00 total $2561 EVEN MORE

if they at least send it from CA to CA I could handle it but even that they do not want to do it

Amazon trying to get rid of small sellers like me.

Please, if anybody have same experience responce and may be you know what to do

You have to do your research before starting anything. Amazon FBA can be the the best business to start for beginners if you are calculated. If you did your research on a product that can sell and then determine your margins; than it is a great first business; especially with the FBA new program. If it wasn't for Amazon and FBA, I would not have been able to sell as many units as I have been able to. Any business takes research and you should know what you're getting into before putting a lot of money into it.
