A to z claim but item is still in transit
Hello there,
Could someone explain in simple terms how does the a to z claims work as they don’t seem fair?
An order has been placed from Spain around 2 weeks ago and the item has been dispatched within 1 working day by me from the UK. A few days ago buyer asked where is his item and I have provided screenshots of the tracking etc, since UK is no longer part of the EU I think it is getting slightly longer for the packaged to arrive. A tracking number has also been added by me to amazon order before I dispatched the item. Packages arrive to the destination country within a few days, but may take a few weeks to get through customs.
Yesterday buyer opened an a to z claim and today amazon has confirmed it transferred the money. Why is it fair? The item is still in transit and looking at the tracking it is definitely not lost, as it’s getting scanned regularly. I feel that u have fulfilled my duties as a seller, however what do I get in result? No item and no money? And we are talking over £200.
Is there a say to appeal this or at least get the item back? Practice shows that once a claim has been confirmed buyers never respond back and keep the item.
Thanks guys

What was the latest expected delivery date? If it’s passed then this will be why Amazon has refunded and if you appeal it they will simply say it has not been delivered on time. Are you able to stop the shipment and get it returned before delivery?

Unfortunately, you have not. Your duty is to get the goods delivered to the customer. Any delay is deemed to be your responsibility - choosing an unreliable or unsuitable carrier, failing to allow for customs hold-ups, whatever reason. As @Russ says, most sellers seem to have switched off EU sales because of the delays, costs and complications

I would take this up with the Courier to get compensation
