Commercial Invoice UK to UK shipping?
Hi Guys, I’ve prepared my first ever FBA shipment to Amazon from my home in the UK to a UK fulfilment centre. I thought I’d done it all correctly, watched videos and read forums etc. When I took my parcel to my local UPS parcel drop off point they told me that they couldn’t accept it as the UPS system was asking for a commercial invoice in a clear wallet stuck to the box? When I checked the UPS website it said that commercial invoices were only required for shipping cross border (my general understanding as well)? Should I have a commercial invoice or have I done something wrong somewhere? Many thanks, sorry if this is a noob question, we all have to start somewhere Peace and thanks - D.B.

I assume you paid for UPS through Amazon? Did you print the two labels that go on the outside of the box and stick them on?

This also happened to me this week. The access point simply ignored it and my parcels are now safely with Amazon. I’m guess it is yet another glitch in Amazon’ IT system

This also happened to me this week. Invoices are only required for export. I just took mine to a more knowledgeable drop off point where they knew that the request for a commercial invoice was nonsense. They managed to override it somehow but not sure how.

You don’t need one for UK shipments, however this is currently a system issue with UPS. We drop multiple boxes a day off at our local UPS drop off point, and they have said it is currently asking them for it for every box they scan. However they are aware it is not needed for UK. They are obv getting frustrated with it, and have apparently contacted UPS, so I am guessing they are aware of the issue.

Thanks to everyone that commented. My shipment was picked up today as expected with no issues. I called UPS and they confirmed it’s an issue with the drop off point software. Just Sod’s Law it happened to me on my first shipment. Take care everyone, peace and love. D.B.

UPS drop-off points look for excuses because they have got not have enough space to store drop shipments. Some tell you in the face, some look for excuses.
