Chargeback claim on already refunded order holding funds

We had a customer return an item, we refunded. A week or two later a chargeback was filed. Amazon is now holding the fund total from the original sale until the claim is decided. This doesn’t seem correct as we already refunded the customer…

Hello @BBBBB

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

I came across your thread and wanted to inquire whether you represented your case for the chargeback indicating that you had already issued a refund. For reference, to represent your case in Seller Central, do the following:

  1. From the Performance menu, select Chargeback Claims.
  2. Click Represent your case. Please note that the represent your case option is listed under both All and Action Required tab. You also can represent your case by replying to the chargeback email with the requested information.
  3. Read the Review the Chargeback and Order Details section.
  4. Complete the Represent your case section.
  5. Click Continue to submit your response.

You can review this help page for additional details regarding chargebacks.

Please feel free to provide an update regarding the claim to this thread and if you have a case ID number opened with our Support team, you can also provide it in this thread and I can review the correspondence already provided.

Regards,

Quincy_Amazon
