Amazon Deducted the Fee (30 GBP) while my Account is still under verification

Hello!

I have opened a new Amazon Professional Account. I have provided all the necessary information and documents required by Amazon and successfully submitted n 10-03-2021.
After the submission, I got a message that my account is under validation and it will take 24 hours to 10 days.

My account is still under verification process, but Amazon deducted the monthly fee (30 GBP) using my charge method.

Is this the normal way how Amazon works? I think Amazon should deduct the fee after the successful verification of my account. Kindly guide me about the issue and how long does it take to validate an account?

Thank you.

The fee is paid monthly in advance, and it did say when you signed up that the fee is taken immediately. Verification can take 2-3 months depending on the information you submit and anything else Amazon may require.

Usually we can downgrade ourselves, but I am not sure if you can do this whilst undergoing verification - you could try. Go to Settings > Account Info, On the left you will see that you have a professional account, click edit alongside and downgrade to a basic account. If that does not work, you can try and apply to seller support for a refund.

Take that time scale with a VERY BIG pinch of salt - as we have heard it can take many weeks even months if there is a problem with any of the info you have supplied.

If you have signed up for a Business Selling Account you can use either Selling Plan - either Professional or Individual (Basic). You can upgrade or downgrade between selling plans as and when you want, usually dependent on the volume of sales. To justify paying the £30 a month fee you need to sell a minimum of 34 items a month, so until your account is verified you are as well being on the basic plan.
The Individual Selling Account is NOT the same as the Individual Selling Plan

View it like a bricks and mortar shop - you may get the keys but even though you’re still kitting it out and you are not open for sales - you are still paying the rent

First post! I had issues with brand verification and listings and even though my account had been verified I was unable to list for 8 months. When I raised this Amazon refunded the monthly £30 deductions. This was in August last year so not sure if anything has changed since then.

Yea pure rip off, they owe me 6 months worth of fees, and guess what you send a email to them they reply after another few months, only to say we are looking it to it and your email is transferred.

Complete joke. But yea we love amazon.:rofl:

AMAZON actually don’t care about seller at all they only care about the customers. recently two of my customers said they didnt recieved items and without investigation they refunded the customer. om both occasion the tracking details were uploaded and seen its been delivered to the customer.

Hello,

I did not apply to sell in Europe, I do not want any money deducted from my account, and I request a refund for the fees that have been deducted in March. I applied to sell only in North America, and I pay Amazon as I sell, not on a monthly base.
Would you please kindly refund me, and stop deducting money from my account?

Thank you.

its normal. if verification took long, and amazon charge you monthly fees, once you got verified, upon request Amazon usually refund/ adjust paid fee during verification process to your account. Be patient plz. Welcome of Amazon Universe. here you have the opportunity to learn something new everyday.

I have been selling on Amazon for 9 years and gone through several re-verifications. The last one took over 6 months but I was still allowed to continue trading, but they requested info again because it was out of date! This time it took only days and it has failed! No explanation given, account deactivated yet they still keep trying to claim seller fees! My account was 100% in good standing, I am/was a good seller. Also watch out for money kept in Reserve-they now place your account on reserve for no reason-keeping your money for 90 days but you are still expected to fulfil orders! They even take your fees from your bank account rather than your reserve! After 9 years of selling on Amazon I have had enough-they will withold your funds for no reason, issue A-Z claims without reference back to you, knowing they are fraudulent and the customer has the goods! Don’t be in such a hurry to sell on Amazon !

Is £30 a bother to you? even under verification you can get on with building listings and making money. good luck. My advise is don’t sweat the small stuff. Amazon is full of these upsets. wait till your a-z claimed for things you don’t sell etc.
