Read onlyI have received an email this morning, with title as per above
"We have noticed a discrepancy between the business address you have provided in Seller Central and the information in the tax records for your VAT Registration Number (VRN)"
I have checked both addresses and they are identical, apart from the way that Amazon chooses to order the business address details which is backwards i.e. country, Post Code, Town, Street.
We have 7 days to correct it, but I have absolutely no idea what I need to correct.
Why would Amazon alert me now about information that was required during verification? Surely it wouldn't have passed that process at the time, now over 2 years ago.
I will try to contact Sales Support, but I'm not confident they will understand.
@Jessica_Amazon_ could you or other moderators point me in the right direction?
I would appreciate any guidance.
i don't think affects the UK, only if you want to sell in the USA..
looking at the "go back to account information" on the linked page brings up this page.
if there's a tax issue it's with the American site.
Just my speculation but it does not seem to be as bad as it was earlier this year. will hopefully get clarification on here later.
I'm still unsure what exactly Amazon want as the email doesn't quite explain the issue...
But my guess is this is something to do with 'Confirm shipping address' in 'Enroll in the VAT Calculation Service' page within 'Vat Calculation Settings'. I *think* Amazon are electronically cross-checking the address with HMRC and finding errors in some sellers 'Vat Calculation Settings' page. This *might* explain the "discrepancy between the business address you have provided in Seller Central and the information in the tax records for your VAT Registration Number (VRN)"
The issue with amending anything within address settings might trigger a re-verification process. Something I don't want to do unless a last resort..
Thoughts?
I received the same email this morning. In my case there were 2 entries to select from in the VAT number screen, both pointing to the same trading address. So I changed the selection to the one flagged in blue as the "Registered Business Address" (see arrow).
I'm presuming Amazon are looking for a match between business registration and VAT/trading address, however I can't be sure that this is the exact resolution. Only time will tell!
I have received this email today as well. My address is correct as is my vat number which was previously verified on amazon for over a decade and none of my details or address have changed. When I go to my vat number in amazon, it says "rejected" and shows a "fix" button. I clicked this and my address there is correct so there's nothing for me to change.
Nothing in performance notifications.
I have also noticed it has removed me from amazons automated vat invoicing for business buyers.
This must surely be a glitch ?
Were you and the other seller here affected by this, caught up in the overseas sellers debacle from January/February when UK sellers had funds frozen?
This glitch/issue could be linked if you were....
I have received same email saying that I have time until 25 September to update details. However all my details are correct, haven;t changed address for years Also I do not sell anything internationaly. Not sure what to do. Anyone sorted this out?
Hi,
I had this email but I googled the email address it was sent from and it was a spoof email. It was something like noreply at sell.onamazon.com
Check it's a genuine mail before you click on those links!
To update my position. I added the address and was asked for another document, I uploaded that and was then asked to enter some further info. I assumed I was on another Amazon merry go round but it was all confirmed within five minutes of adding the updated info.
One odd thing I noticed was that a (tax) document they had from a previous upload was quite old and had been updated several times since that one was added. I don't know how that could still be in their system.
For now I'm sorted, who knows what tomorrow will bring?
same for me updates and more updates than you get
You currently have limited access to Amazon selling services.
then they hang onto your money same every summer
Well the limited access message on account info is now gone. However im starting to doubt this had anything to do with the email as some sellers have had that on their account since Friday, but did not get the email, so who knows.
