Read onlyHi,
We have been trying to get a refund for out VAT for about 3 months, each time Amazon support has replied with the following:
"Dear Seller,
Due to a technical issue in our system, we are unable to process VAT refund requests until November 1, 2024. We are working to resolve this problem and make the necessary system updates. You will be able to resubmit your requests starting November 1. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
Each time with a different date. I find it hard to believe that the system that handles tax for amazon has been broken for months on end. Has anybody had this issue and has managed to get their refund?
We are a LTd, not-vat registered.
I have the same.
I first requested a VAT refund on 16th July and after having jumped through hoops was told to resubmit a new case on 8th August. Then again on 30th September, 1st October, 8th October and now again 1st November.
They always move the date so your case is closed and you have to start explaining it all over again.
For a company who can easily produce monthly VAT invoices surely they can produce an account of how much VAT a seller has paid on selling fees.
I wonder if they think I will just give up. I have keep a document outlining each submission and will just copy and paste that into new cases.
@Spencer_Amazoncan you look into this at all and give us an idea of what this technical issue is?
I've been having the same issue. It's getting beyond a joke now. They said 1st November, and have said again today that they're still having 'technical issues' and aren't even giving a date now.
Surely incorrectly taking money from small businesses, not making it very well known/informing people and then witholding it for so long is illegal?
