Bank Account Reverification problem - Middle name issue - help needed
Hi guys I have been selling on Amazon for 11 years and my account is in good standing, last Monday I received an email asking me to send a bank statement to re-verify my deposit account. The problem I have is my Amazon account does not have my middle name saved but my bank account does have it. My name on Amazon is ‘John Doe’ but on my passport and bank account its ‘John Peter Doe’. All other details are correct for my bank account (address, account number etc). Amazon are asking for the bank statement to be in the name ‘John Doe’
Does anyone know whether the middle name on the bank will be accepted or if its going to cause the verification to fail? If it does fail will I still have the option to add my middle name to be added or will the failure cause it to get greyed out?
At the moment I figure I have 2 options:
- Submit my current bank statement with middle name and hope its accepted.
- Update my account info on my Amazon Identity information. If I add my middle name but don’t change any other field will that cause my whole account to have to be reverified?
I have 60 days to submit the bank statement and I am currently allowed to make withdrawns and sell as normal. I would really like to avoid upsetting the bots and ending up having to deal with the amazon bots. Is there a direct contact for the verification team to maybe explain and get them to add my middle name to my account?
I have been on Amazon so long I must have just not added my middle name when I first joined, I don’t recall it being as strict back then. From looking at the Identity information section it says Optional inside the Middle name section which may be why I didn’t add it at the time.
I am hoping someone here with more knowledge and previous experience can help me because I am honestly stuck on what to do. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi I forgot to mention I bank with Santander and went to my local branch earlier in the week to see if I could get them to either remove my middle name from my bank statements but the manager refused to do it saying she could only remove it if I changed my name on my passport.
I have asked them to write me a certified letter confirming I hold the account without my middle name but even with this they are being difficult - they said they don’t have any letter headed paper at the branch (really?) and said all letters have to go to head office to be typed and then sent to the customer in the post. They then said for data protection they can’t include my full account number on the letter and will include the last 4 digits which I don’t think Amazon will accept.

My middle names are shown on my bank statements, two middle names, neither of these are on my Amazon account and they accepted it no problems. Two weeks ago, uploaded the bank statement, three days went by and I hadn’t heard anything so I checked the status and it said ‘verified’.

I did mine a couple of weeks ago, it said to upload a statement showing Jane Karen Doe but my bank statement says Jane K Doe.
It was accepted within 12 hours.
