Is Small and Light killing your business?

I tried 2 weeks the small and light program and it took my sales down by 80%. I think this was because the fulfilment time is a lot lower and buyers are not coming to Amazon for 3…4 days delivery they are coming for next day. I think this Small and Light program is useless and I lost lot of time and effort trying it.

Any good / bad experience?

I only use small and light and it works well for my price range

It obviously depends on what you sell but if your sales dropped 80% then reverting back to standard fba is a no brainer

The majority of my Amazon business uses Small and Light. My business wouldn’t really survive if I was to use Standard FBA as I would have to pay far too much in fees and I would struggle to make a profit.

Some points to note though

  1. At the weekends and bank holidays the delivery dates are often a lot longer and sales are slower. Over the weekends delivery times can be several days.
  2. With the recent bank holidays delivery time was set at around a week and sales significantly dipped during this time. If you were doing your trial then it might not have been the best time!

However on the plus side the fees for a standard 19x13cm card is only 86p and opposed to £1.71 on standard FBA.

I personally find that the start of the week is the busiest time and sales slow down as you approach the weekend. For example today has been a really busy day and I normally find Monday through Wednesday are really busy.

I can make it work for me, part of my range is greeting cards and I really would struggle to compete if I had to charge standard fees.

I’m 100% SNL & have been since it started maybe 6 years ago,it has only been positive for me,longer delivery times have no effect on sales. Many of my items get next day delivery anyway.Mon/Tues/Wed tend to be busiest but on Saturday I had my highest sales this year.I believe the more you send in the more you get next day delivery due to stock being in more fc’s

Small and Light by itself didn’t have an impact on our sales compared to FBA. The lower fees did let us feel more confident sending larger amounts of stock in, which has really helped make further sales once something has gotten on a roll. Over all, even with the slower delivery time, it’s increased our Prime sales.

Kids’ t-shirts for us.
