MFN/FBM Returns
Hi everyone,
Just switched from FBA to FBM this week and trying to get my head around dealing with returns in case any come up in future.
Just wondering if anyone can simplify it for me at all? Does the seller always take responsibility for the cost of the returns and pay for the returns label?
I've adjusted my return settings Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) to seller so I can monitor my returns and the reasons etc before authorising them as opposed to Amazon authorising them for me . Is this the right way to go?
Had a look on seller university and on google but cant quite get the answers I want
Thanks

as a standard on FBM you will be in the prepaid return label scheme.
Here no matter what the return reason, provided it is within the return window and within Amazon policy Amazon will approve it and provide a prepaid return label.
This is charged at the point it is scanned by the post office or drop off location to your account.
At the same time refund at first scan occurs. Here the customer will get a full refund, but if they were liable for the return costs (based on the return reason given) then that value will be deducted from the refund.
Note if you sell in fashion clothing jewellery handbags then these are free returns irregardless
I don’t think you have set anything up to stop Amazon auto authorising the returns. This will occur on hazmat goods or you can exclude items over £100. Alternatively you can remove yourself from the prepaid return label scheme by contacting seller support. Note that if you do this you would then need to approve all return requests within 48 hours and supply your own label.
