Advice please: on having two seller accounts for two separate companies

Good evening! Hope you are all well.

We have a seller account for our limited company, in the ltd companies name etc, it’s going quite well.

We’re looking to register another account to sell on amazon, for our separate limited company (very different product line, separate bank accounts/companies house registration etc).

Does anybody see any issues with both companies having the same postal address/phone number?

Does anybody have any experience of having multiple accounts on Amazon with different limited companies, registered at the same property.

Thank you in advance for any advice, just looking to avoid any avoidable issues and find any potential pitfalls (if any!).

You can register 2 seller accounts using the same address as long as you obtain prior permission from the seller performance.

Also, make sure that the products sold on each account are completely different, not just a product line, but a different category.

I take it the registered Directors are the same on both Companies, which would likely be picked up, so best to get permission in advance from Amazon to avoid possible issues later, but should not be an issue if different products, category?

dont do it as they allowed a friend to do this then they just closed down the other account without notice, even though he sent the e mails stating that it was ok to have two accounts, amazon simply don’t care about it and seller performance will never give you a straight answer if you get one at all, dont waste all that time and effort for a fall at the end,

We’ve done this, we still have the other active account (downgraded from pro) but no longer use it. But we spoke to Seller Performance first to see how we could do it (set up another account for our other ltd company), as the companies are separate ltd companies with separate bank accounts etc the same as yours, but the same registered address and directors.

No problems  Just speak to them first and confirm what you are going to do

yes, i can confirm that if you are selling the same products on both accounts they will shut one down without notice and you will wait 3 months before they will pay out any funds they are holding for customer refunds,

It’s fine as long as they are separate legal entities and sell different products. I’m a shareholder of two businesses and can access both amazon accounts. To avoid any complications it’s better to have different primary account holders. Just tell them what you plan to do.

The problem you may have is with HMRC , why have two companies from same address , same directors etc …
They will see it as avoidance of vat , by splitting takings over two companies to stay below VAT level

I think people blow this way out of proportion.

We set up two accounts for two different companies, both registered to the same address on Amazon and at companies house, same directors, always logged in simultaneously from the same computer.

This was pretty much day 1 for us on Amazon - as far as I was concerned, and still am, they are two separate legal entities. It being an issue never even crossed my mind, nor has it ever been an issue on Amazon.

There’s no overlap in products sold between the accounts.

We also have the same for 2 years without issue, we requested permission from Seller Performance prior to setting it up, as per the previous commentsthere must be absolutely no overlap in products. If what your doing is legitimate and genuine I see no issue with Amazon,

However there are a number of dubious sellers we see time and time again using multiple accounts to manipulate Amazon’s systems, doing this is with huge risk of suspension of not only the duplicate accounts but all registered verificed information relating to those accounts.

Dear Monkey
We tried some time ago to register two accounts from the same company address and were told it was not allowed, you can only do it with a different trading address.
Hope this helps.
Ray.
