Supplement inventory is expiring, how to sell it out?
Guys,
I have 118 days of inventory left at Amazon for a nutritional supplement that I don't intend to restock. The expiration date is 10/30/24, meaning I need to double my sales until then in order to sell out in time.
I'm now so far removed from involvement with Amazon advertising that I'm not sure what I can do, or are even eligible to do, in order to quickly liquidate this inventory.
Ideas? Help?
Much appreciated!

If the expiration date is in just a bit over two months, you're already past the point that those items should be destroyed. Amazon has various requirements for expiry lead times; for Herbal or mineral supplements it's 730 days (two years). Even the shortest period categories are 90 days.
I don't sell expiration dated products, so not an expert, but my guess is that you should have any remaining inventory destroyed. Any sales you get are likely to cause problems.

Hello @Seller_x39QeHgyQBSFL
If you do not remove the expiring inventory, customers may complain about the short time remaining to use the supplement before expiration. This could negatively impact your selling account. Additionally, continuing to sell the expiring inventory violates our policies, as @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw pointed out.

Because it violates policy and will get your account suspended?

I'm confused. So what did you mean in your original post when you stated:
Unless you got your messages jumbled, if you have a product with an expiry date in under 90 days, IT'S TOO OLD TO SELL ON AMAZON.
The link I posted has EVERYTHING do to with items with expiry dates.
You need to dispose of your products, or risk losing your Amazon account. Selling something, especially supplements, with that short of a expiry deadline, is asking for nothing other than trouble.

You are already past the point of selling it IMHO. We also sell supplements and it is too risky to sell something this close to the expiration date.
Are these FBA or MF?
Are they 30 or 60 say supply?
If FBA, I would recommend you pull them out now.
If MF, and 30 day supply, you could sell for another 30 days or so, but I would add to your page the expiration is 10/30 so customers are not negatively surprised.
If the lab can recertify for a future date, you can also re-label them with the new date. This is a real thing, but you would need the recertification from the lab or formulary.
Either way, you are really risking the health of your account by continuing.

My recommendation is to find a liquidation/bulk buyer who specializes in taking products at or close to expire/best buy date and create a removal order and have the product shipped directly to them.

Pull it. Don't try to sell it on Amazon. Don't reduce the price and tell people it expires in a few weeks. They will not see it.

On the bright side, I don't think he'll be around Amazon to give us a bad reputation for much longer. Good riddance (sadly, like the Hydra, there will be 10 more to take his place.....)

I think you may be too late to sell it on Amz.
But hey it's your account/ suspension on the line here.
If it were me I would have all affected inventory sent back to me or destroyed (depending if you can find somebody who may take them off your hands, at a deep discount of course 🤷🏻♂️).
Good Luck!
