An EAN I own is already in use
I am trying to register a product using an EAN that I have bought and registered from GS1. I raised a case with Amazon support staff but I am having a lot of trouble getting. resolution on this. I am being repeatedly asked to check the title and brand name I am using are correct rather than addressing my issue that the EAN assigned to my product by GS1 is being incorrectly used by another (discontinued) product on Amazon.
The evidence I have sent so far is a screenshot of the error shown when I tried to use the EAN. Screen shot of the barcode generated by GS1 and a screenshot of my GS1 account showing the assigned EAN, product title and my account email (same as my amazon account).
Any advice on how I can get this moving forward?

I have the same problem and keep sending the screenshots to seller support showing the EAN error message when trying to add a new product.
I hope they will resolve the issue.
I will post here once they have done that.

I think you normally have to show it on your product too

Ask GS1 to send you some new free barcodes

It seems like amazon have no process dealing with this. I can’t get hold of a support agent to call me directly to sort this out.
It looks like a fundamental problem in amazon database where discontinued products continue to occupy unique codes, which by their nature can be reassigned to new products.
I’m still unable to get on a call with support staff and only receiving nonsense suggestions

Yes I am having the same problem - Amazon is linking the EAN of my product with another discontinued product and blocking my listings.
If anyone has managed to resolve this their advice would be greatly appreciated - thank you!
