Quick Tip: "Missed Fulfillment Promise" FBA Refund
Missed Fulfillment Promise FBA Refunds
If you see "Missed Fulfillment Promise" as the reason for an FBA return or refund, such as in a "We have initiated a refund in the amount of..." notification, that means the buyer indicated their FBA order didn’t arrive by the guaranteed delivery date.
‘Missed Promise’ catches the eyes of a lot of sellers – after all, nobody likes a broken promise – but this type of return/refund works like many others for FBA.
- Amazon will refund the buyer and request the item(s) be returned.
- Returned items will be evaluated, with sellable items returned to your inventory and unsellable items receiving further evaluation as per our FBA customer returns policy.
- If the order isn't returned within 60 days you will be reimbursed by Amazon as per the FBA inventory reimbursement policy: Customer return claims.
- If an item is classified as non-returnable, a reimbursement will not be issued.
Reimbursements are automatic for orders that aren't returned, but we recommend monitoring your inventory and reimbursements for updates. You can open a case to request reimbursement as long as it's within 60 days from the customer refund date and no longer than 18 months.
