Toys & Games category specifications
Seeking everyones help with this. Firstly, I want to start selling under this said category: Toys & Games > Stuffed Animals & Plush Toys. Is this specific category gated? And If so what are my actions as a seller to ungate said category, who wants to bring my own product onto the market? Going further with gating and safety specifications. What is the main difference between gating and compliance? How frequently is CPC needed when dealing with compliances? How consistently or on what occasions does the product have to be tested for CPSIA and ASTM F963-17?

Good Morning @Seller_K5UEohxK9hesL,
You have quite a bit of questions here. Lets see if we can tackle them all:
Question #1:
Answer #1: To check on whether a product category may have additional approval requirements, you can review the Overview of categories table. Even if selling in a category does not require approval from Amazon, selling certain products may require approval.
Question #2:
Answer #2: The categories and products that require approval help page offers videos and steps to take if an: Individual ASIN, Brand, Brand within a specific category, Category, or Sub-category requires more approvals and how you can approach the Selling Application process.
Question #3:
Answer #3: Additional approvals may be required to ensure products sold in our store are safe, authentic, and meet regulations.
Product Compliance takes into consideration that your products will adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, standards, and our policies related to those products and product listings.
We want to ensure that products offered on Amazon are safe and there is no risk that they will cause death, personal injury, or damage to property. Listings of any products that are recalled by the manufacturer or a government agency are prohibited. We also reserve the right to consider recalls made by government agencies of other countries.
Customers trust that they can always buy with confidence on Amazon. Products you offer for sale must comply with your seller agreement, including all applicable Amazon policies and all applicable laws and regulations. This could increase your chances of succeeding as a seller on Amazon, as well as help you avoid practices that could lead to blocked listings, or even prevent you from selling on Amazon.
You can read more about this on the Product compliance documentation help page.
Question #4:
Answer #4: Customer safety is our top priority. We reserve the right to ask for additional information to verify product safety and compliance at any time. For the testing question, you can learn more about Toy testing on this help page -->HERE<--
I hope we were able to sufficiently answer all your questions.
Lastly, as this seems to be one of your first posts on the forums, I wanted to recommend using Seller University as your guide in avoid unnecessary fees, confusion about how to add a product and be aware of penalties that may occur on your Selling Account if policies are broken.
If you are not a part of the New Seller Community, I would highly suggest joining and reviewing the content in that group as well.
