Read onlyI have just tried to create an FBA shipment, but can't complete the shipment unless I agreed to the pre poly bag fee of 75p per units. We have been selling this item for many years, without having to pack in a poly bag. The product is seeds packaged in a cardboard box, what's changed?
You product as some point during the last fba shipment would have had a number of issues with items / seeds coming out of the boxes so it has been flagged.
As an Amazon customer I have received leaking boxes of seeds. For Amazon that'll increase cleaning costs through their warehouses, vans etc so I understand the policy.
75p per polybag sounds expensive especially for large numbers and the next issue could be your item being remeasured as larger if they leave air in the bag, potentially affecting your FBA storage and fulfilment costs. Perhaps look into vacuum poly bagging them yourself before sending them in.
From personal experience, it's a lot cheaper to poly bag yourself rather than paying Amazon to do it.
The obvious downside is that you're then paying for the cost of time spent poly bagging. I've been able to get away with shrink wrapping instead of poly bagging, which takes a fraction of the time and is a lot cheaper (providing you purchase a small hand wrap roll, not the full size shrink wrap).
