I'm not one to moan on here, especially since Amazon generally do not care, you're just a whisper in the wind, and one of MANY, who go through hell with them. I've sold on Amazon for almost 2 years, i've paid them almost £1million pound in their fees. I've now been asked for my suppliers supplier information for 3 brand approval requests, yes i've seen it all before, - but I've had various invoices approved from this supplier in the past, next thing my supplier contacted me to advise Amazon have contacted them to purchase directly, and also to gain their supplier information.
The whole process is backwards, they require an invoice to request approval - so you have to physically buy and own the stock and get invoiced. Yet they point and laugh when they reject you once you physically hold it, and most of the time can't return it.
It's a complete abuse of Power, and they've already been taken to court over this! Yet they are STILL here doing the same thing. Requesting our Suppliers, Supplier information - for their own gain!!
We work with a distributor that has been established for 30 years, beyond when Amazon was formed, one of the most authentic, genuine businesses in existence. RARELY ANYBODY, is ever going to be able to gain their suppliers supplier information. WHO WOULD DO THAT?
That's some of the most safeguarded information in the industry, it's a businesses most sensitive information surely! Yet big bully Amazon throw their weight around, trying to gain all the information constantly for their own advantage. Masking it with -" we want to make sure goods are authentic" - Yeah yeah we've heard it all before Amazon, we get it.
One day, some how some where, it's going to come crashing down on them. No company can bully the entire market, their sellers, and abuse their power for this long and get away with it forever.
One good thing? -> It sure ignites that fire in your belly to start looking elsewhere from this increasingly dreadful place. Once loved this and all it offered, i've never felt more deflated and stressed.

I understand your frustration with Amazon's abuse of power in your case. While our situation is different - we're dealing with systemic inefficiency rather than deliberate overreach - it's equally damaging to our business.
Since October 16th, Amazon has repeatedly misapplied UK food regulations to our EU-compliant cosmetic product in France, despite having all documentation proving compliance with EU cosmetic regulations. Their inability to properly handle cross-border regulations is wreaking havoc. Unlike your situation where they're actively seeking supplier information, in our case it appears to be bureaucratic incompetence - they seem unable to distinguish between UK and EU regulations post-Brexit, or even between food and cosmetic categories.
After exhaustive seller support to and froing and getting nowhere with the MD, I'm escalating to EU regulators (DGCCRF) for violation of Single Market rules and of EU Regulation 1223/2009.
You're right that these practices, whether intentional or through incompetence, can't continue indefinitely. The more of us who formally challenge these issues through proper channels, the better our chance of seeing systemic improvement.
ok they have been doing this for years . and nothing as ever been done about this . its what they do
That's what they do, absolutely disgusting
Way back when Amazon only sold books they directly contacted us as a small business selling outdoor equipment and convinced us to become one of their merchants. We had a lengthy phone interview with someone with an American accent to assess whether we were suitable and also to explain at length that they wanted to help small businesses compete with the 'Big Boys'. We signed up and became a merchant but, after a while, it became apparent what they were up to as they began to deal with our suppliers direct and they began their world domination of retail (and now following on with other areas).
This has been going on for years now so don't expect it to change anytime soon. We now sell very little through Amazon. I would advise you to not put all your eggs in one basket as they will break them one by one.
You are so wrong with this. Amazon are trying to simply establish that you have a legitimate supply chain. They would never contact your suppliers or abuse the position they are in and fearful of any backlash they will get from the like of the monoploies and competition markets. Luckily they are and never will be big enough to be a concern to small sellers as they are the lifeblood of their business.
Sorry about that, just thought I would write a complete dillustional piece of rubbish. I cannot truly disagree with anything you have said but I am sure this is how Amazon relay this to the executive in that big ivory tower.
That sounds shady no wonder you are ****** off. Is there any strategies around for moving away from them or going muli platform?
post.yes true I believe you have bin selling for a year with out no payment.. when I call them no good answer
Try looking at the second paragraph here.

Amazon have slowly over time just turned us against them so much from the amount of regulations you have to adhere to to the auto refunding to the not caring about us sellers to stuff like this..
i would get all this evidence, enough so you have proof they have done this and see where you stand.. im sure some solicitors would find a case here for some kind of missconduct/monopoly kind of thing
Mp is a good shout too.
I think if you go back and read the whole of my post, I definitely get it.
